Today is the end of an era, we have finally closed the doors of The Rocking Horse Day Nursery. Since opening in September 1997, when we converted our old family home to provide care for children in the village and surrounding area, the nursery has been a dream that completely captured my heart.

Over the years, we have celebrated incredible highs, including:
• 2004: I was voted Business Person of the Year
• 2005: The nursery was awarded Team of the Year
• 2009: We were voted Finalist for the Nursery World ‘Nursery of the Year’
• 2013: Achieving an 'Outstanding' Ofsted grading
• 2021: Craig & I had a visit to 10 Downing Street, having afternoon tea with Boris in recognition of our dedication to Early Years throughout the pandemic

Like any business, we have had our ups and downs—we even survived having to close for a few months during COVID-19.
Unfortunately, however, we cannot survive the current staffing crisis that the early years sector is facing, which brings us to the reason why we are closing.

On a personal note, I would like to thank my family and friends who have been on this journey with me every step of the way – I really wouldn’t have survived 29 years without you. My deepest gratitude also goes to our istaff, both past and present, and lastly, to the families who trusted us with their children and truly made my dream come true.

Heres to the next chapter…………………..!

Our last week and we had a very special visitor - PC Mel came to nursery (on a planned visit!!).
We had fun dressing up, looking around the police van and waking up the neighbours with the loud siren.

Thank you so much for paying us a visit.
