Student Motorsport Improving work readiness for a career in the motorsport industry, through our activities and inter-class motor racing competition for educators.

Student Motorsport is a non-profit membership organisation with a clear mission: to develop a student's ability to access a career in the ultra-competitive motorsport and automotive industry. The membership is made up of students, teams, educators and professionals from across the UK and is venturing into Europe. The network aims to play a pivotal role in shaping the discussions around the future of the sport, and what will be required of students and educators as new technologies and media opportunities emerge. The organisation offers an online network, resource library, a placement programme services, industry events and is frequently creating new commercial partnerships for the benefit of the membership. The Student Motorsport Racing Team, entering the Renault Clio Cup UK for 2020, offers student members and commercial partners a unique opportunity for growth. Student Motorsport was founded by John Paul (JP) Latham in 2014, backed by 20 years motorsport industry experience including race team manager and lecturer. We are expanding the management and personnel team in 2020.

Leading the way here at Silverstone is Richard Jepp in his Team Northbrook Racing Peugeot 108. Followed closely by Andrew Dyer in his Boston College car. Then P3 in class Harry Sutton driving the Waltham Forest College car.

🏁 It’s not just about the racing!

As the 2026 Student Motorsport Competition heads to Silverstone, the season finale is set to be about much more than what happens on track. 🔧🏎️

From the Pit Stop Challenge powered by BOXO, putting teams’ teamwork and technical skills to the ultimate test, to industry guests, new teams exploring the paddock and the all-important end-of-season celebrations — Silverstone is a chance to showcase the next generation of motorsport talent. 💪

With racing, learning, networking and plenty happening behind the scenes, it’s the perfect way to round out another incredible season.

🏁 We are all looking ahead now to the final weekend for the 2026 Student Motorsport Competition, which is part of the BRSCC's Nankang Tyre CityCar Cup Championship.

Just like last year, we are heading to the home of British Motorsport: Silverstone International, to crown this years champions. 🍾🎊

This weekend, 11 school, college universities or training organisation led teams will be on the grid for two races in the final showdown of what has been a highly competitive and thrilling season, where students have gained invaluable real-world trackside experience.

Going into the weekend here are some key racing points you need to know:
⭐️Team Northbrook Racing are heading into the weekend with one hand on the title
⭐️ Last years title winners Boston College Racing are looking to secure second and third
⭐️ The new teams for this year: JAS/HW Motorsports, Waltham Forest College, Pit Lane Development and Paddock Speedshop will be looking to end the season on a high
⭐️ QE Motorsport are back with two cars to challenge the pack
⭐️ East Surrey College, NESCOT College and City College Norwich will be looking to also end their seasons in style.

This weekend, you can catch all the on track action by tuning into the BRSCC's YouTube channel but then stick around here to see all the behind the scenes action. 📺
