So pleased for Darren Watson having just completed an epic 14 hour Channel Swim in conditions the Pilot said was some of the worst he had witnessed for a swimmer. Testament to Darren’s mental and physical ability to keep going and overcome. 3 years in the making and it was an honour to be a part of your journey and witness your success. Banu, Darren’s wife - you have been a huge, huge part of this and the faith and belief you showed in Darren during some difficult times when others may have faulted was extraordinary. Very special Day.

🌊 JERSEY SWIM UPDATE 🌊

We have just had it confirmed from the pilot that the winds will prevent us swimming around Jersey during our window this week.

It would have been doable up to force 3 but the winds are forcased to be force 5/6. We have to be guided by the expert.

However, all is not lost quite yet.

Although it is a spring tide the pilot has offered to allow us to swim from Jersey to France on Friday. He will confirm this later.

Make no mistake, this is still a uniquely different but very challenging swim.

As the crow flies, it’s 14 miles, however, the conditions will force us to swim a whole lot further and the time in the water will be nearly as long as the round Jersey swim.

As you can imagine, there was a tinge of disappointment at first.

But such is the nature of open water swimming, a set back, is a set up for a comeback.

So weather permitting we will swim to France and we’ll be back to swim around Jersey and settle the unfinished business.
