A lovely afternoon was spent in Cookery Club today with a small group of young chefs! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

The children made delicious spiced cheese and vegetable twists, learning about the different ingredients. We spoke about the vegetables and spices we were using, where they come from, and how they add flavour, colour, and texture to our food.

The children practised their chopping, mixing, and pastry skills, showing great teamwork, confidence, and creativity in the kitchen. The finished twists looked fantastic and smelled even better – a tasty homemade treat for tea time!

Today we said goodbye to our beautiful butterflies 🦋

The children have loved every moment of watching them grow from tiny caterpillars into butterflies at nursery. It’s been such a lovely learning experience full of excitement, care, patience, and wonder.

We are so proud of how gentle and caring the children have been throughout the whole journey. Watching the butterflies spread their wings and fly away was such a special moment for everyone 💛

🚶‍♀️🛴🚲 Walk With Wheels Week! 🚲🛴🚶‍♂️

This week at nursery we are encouraging all of our families to take part in Walk With Wheels Week by finding alternative ways to travel to nursery — whether that’s walking, scooting, cycling or using balance bikes! 🌍💚

Choosing active travel has so many wonderful benefits for our children:
✨ Helps build confidence and independence
✨ Encourages physical activity and healthy habits
✨ Supports children’s mental wellbeing and boosts mood
✨ Develops road safety awareness
✨ Helps reduce traffic and pollution around nursery

Even swapping the car for a short walk or scoot a couple of times this week can make a big difference! We would love to see photos of your journeys and hear how your children enjoyed travelling in a different way. 📸😊

Yesterday, our Nursery Manager Gemma walked 26 miles from Sandbanks Beach to Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington with her sister in law. 🚶‍♀️

Every penny raised from this event will go directly to the hospice and the amazing care and support they provide to local families. Something that is very close to our hearts at Pinecones 💛

Together they raised a total of £961! A huge thank you to everyone that took the time to sponsor them 🫶🏼
