📣 Primary PE and sport premium confirmed for 2025–2026!

We’re joining colleagues across the education sector to welcome this crucial funding. At a time when PE hours are under pressure and activity levels are flatlining, this support gives schools and educators the resources they need to prioritise physical education for every child.

💬 Kate Thornton-Bousfield, afPE CEO, says:
"Like many others, I am breathing a big sigh of relief at this news… this investment is absolutely vital to our profession and, more importantly, to our ability to deliver for young people in every school."

This recognition of the value of PE is long overdue—and we’ll continue working toward a more secure, long-term investment in our subject.

We’re also proud to have been named an Inclusion 2028 delivery partner, helping make PE more inclusive and accessible for all.

School Games Organisers from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have been running tackling inequalities projects with local children and young people and their teachers.

They've been telling us what they've learned from running the projects and shared some great feedback from the children taking part.

Lots of different activities, such as fencing, yoga and skateboarding were hosted for less active young people, specifically those
- With low levels of mental health
- Special educational needs
- On pupil premium or free school meals
- Girls
- From Black and Asian backgrounds

There were some expected outcomes from the projects, like improved wellbeing, resilience and self esteem for the young people. They also saw increased knowledge and skills around physical activity, as well as greater confidence for the teachers.

There were also some less predictable, but just as interesting ripple effects as a result of the projects. There have been changes to activities delivered in curriculum, they've seen some students join external clubs and seen stronger collaboration and relationships between schools. In addition a volunteer workforce has been created to support many of the sessions. Many of these are sustainable changes, that suggest long terms changes as a result of the projects.

The organisers learned a lot, which may help other people running similar projects, from having contingency plans, how to include young people's voice and that timing and location plays an important part.

We had a fantastic time at Testwood School for our first event of the year... Yr 3&4 Football Festival!

We had an amazing turnout of children, specifically targeting children to develop teamwork, cooperation and leadership. Well done to all those that took part!

A huge thanks to our Testwood Young Leaders, who supported the schools brilliantly!

With over 80 different events across KS1, upper and lower KS2, we have a vast and broad range of opportunities on offer across the calendar year!
