Join Jamming Station Unplugged NEXT WEEK 25-27 August at The Mill, Totnes (Jamming Station HQ)! ⚡️⚡️

Open to all musicians aged 13-17, this is a great opportunity to come together, develop your skills, experiment with rhythm and build towards a relaxed performance for friends and family.

Our unplugged sessions are played at a lower volume so everyone gets a chance to be heard! Those who are noise sensitive may also find this an accessible programme to get involved with, feel free to contact us with any questions about this!

Sessions run 10am-4pm and you can choose to join us for one day or all three, though we recommend the full experience to see your ideas grow within the group.

We welcome all abilities, and you can bring your own instrument or use one of ours. Electric guitars are welcome, they’ll just be “unplugged”! 🎸

Jamming Station where I run workshops is in dire need of new working equipment and air conditioning for the building!

We are doing amazing work woth young people, creating a diverse and inclusive musical community for young musicians to thrive in with peer support and avenues to fulfil dreams, perform live and learn the blessings of music.

Please support us to have to have the necessary equipment to continue creating this safe and rich environment for young people to reach their potential.

Any help really helps us to grow as an organisation!

The Drift returns to Jamming Station for a triumphant homecoming gig after a global tour, bringing tracks from their latest album and classics from their first EP!!

“I practice all the time, and I know about theory, in fact I think of music that way, because I think of music every way that I can. Like, if I’m making up a backing vocal part of a song, I know what interval I’m singing in and I know how it relates to the chords in the song. I believe that when you make music, you’re playing with matter that the infinite is made up of. Understanding chord theory and understanding intervals and notes and the way music is written on a page can make our use of these elements of infinity bigger. On the other hand, technical knowledge can also make your understanding of music’s relationship to infinity smaller. For me it makes it bigger, but there was a time in my life that it made it smaller, and when I saw it having that effect, I just forgot about it all. I forgot that I ever knew how to read music, and I forgot that I ever knew what the name of a note was. And that was when I felt I started coming up with my own style of writing songs and of playing guitar. So when I had my own style, I started thinking about that stuff again, and I found it made my style more magical.”

This Fri 8th Dec. Tickets are only £6 for three acts. Come and see what our student band, plus two other acts, have been learning and see if it is something you might like to take part in.
