One Year in Transition (1YT) is a challenging, contemporary, hope-filled programme for people who want to catalyse positive social change. Because change for a more equitable and sustainable world needs people who can think and act in ways that are counter-intuitive and don’t wait to be told what to do; people who ask questions, bring the whole of themselves, go slowly (and go fast when necessary)
, push their comfort zone and aspire to be authentic. One Year in Transition is taking up to 14 students this year who want to design their own life-projects. Applications for 2017/8 are now open! Over four meet-ups and eleven months the course acts as a bridge between learning and working - or between full time employment and self-employment. It is as full or as part-time as you want it to be, it’s low cost and you can do it right where you are. You will emerge equipped with personal and professional skills to tackle the social and environmental challenges we face, whilst building community around you and creating paid work. Just as importantly, 1YT is a place where you will meet outstanding people and make new friends. We offer: the experience of working on and leading community projects, studying practical skills of your choice, dialogue with leading change-makers, group facilitation skills, Transition Training, Action Learning, personal mentoring, learning from Nature, and whatever else we collectively choose to put into the course. We challenge you to meet your living expenses through non-monetary exchange as much as possible!
