We’re giving away a place on our Everlasting Spring Flowers in Paper workshop with

on Saturday 26th September.

Spend a slow, creative day in the glasshouse learning how to transform specialist crepe paper into delicate flowers painting, dyeing and shaping each element by hand before bringing your flowers together in a vintage pot to take home.

No experience is needed, and everything is provided, along with coffee, homemade treats and a simple organic lunch.

This bouquet was made for Ruby, daughter.

Her wish was for wedding flowers from Totnes, her home town.

For soft blues, with larkspur and sweet peas. The summer heat had made those flowers incredibly scarce, but we managed to find just a few precious stems to weave through the bouquet.

We added a touch more blue with the sea urchin-like Didicus, adding texture, movement and a touch of seasonal magic.

Filled with the very best of late July flowers.

Our dahlias are struggling in this heat, and with limited watering they’re more vulnerable to slugs and earwigs.

So we’re putting leftover party beer to good use!

Slugs and earwigs are attracted to fermenting beer, making it a simple trap.

This locally made beer from was too good to waste and there’s only so much we could drink!

One additional thing we need to do is go and bury them at ground level so it’s easier for them to get in.

Every bouquet we create reflects the season, grown slowly and naturally.

For this wedding, the couple chose a bridal bouquet and buttonhole from our Simple Seasonal Wedding Flowers collection, alongside our DIY flower buckets. Using those freshly picked stems, they created their own bridesmaids’ bouquets, church flowers and table arrangements.

We still have a small number of spaces available for weddings this year.

Taking five in the garden with a coffee and the hounds, reflecting after a week of flowering weddings, long days, and being under the weather.

I’m looking at each part of the garden and thinking about how to develop it so it’s not only beautiful to look at, but productive too.

I want to be able to cut from it throughout the season while also creating more shade for these increasingly hot summer days.

Did you know that surrounding yourself with plants and trees can actually help lower the temperature around you?

Moments like this remind me how incredibly lucky I am that this is my office. I wouldn’t swap it for anything.

There is something quietly reassuring about finding food waiting for you at the front gate.

The entrance to our home has become a ready-made food forest. Not planted by us, mother nature has just done her thing., and we have left her to it.

Blackberries are ripening alongside hazelnuts, warmed by the glorious Devon sunshine.

Of course, it isn’t just for us. The berries belong as much to the birds, insects and small mammals as they do to our kitchen. We simply take our share and leave plenty behind.

Even Dougie and Mabel, our two cocker spaniels, know where to look, happily helping themselves to a berry or two whenever they get the chance.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is step back and let nature find its own rhythm. In return, it offers abundance without fuss, food without packaging, and a daily reminder that the richest harvests are often the ones that ask the least of us.

So many beautiful options.

At the end of June, roses are often the stars of the show, surrounded by the scent, movement and character that only seasonal flowers can bring.

This bouquet features roses, stocks, alstroemeria, larkspur, sweet peas, foxgloves and jasmine, with foliage including bupleurum, hornbeam and cress.

Every stem has been grown here in Devon, without chemicals and in tune with the seasons. Choosing locally grown flowers means supporting biodiversity, reducing flower miles and celebrating what nature is offering at its very best.

As a Totnes florist, I love creating wedding flowers that reflect the landscape and season around us. Regeneratively grown flowers bring a natural beauty that simply can’t be replicated by imported blooms.

I was just about to throw these wonky old stems onto the compost heap when I decided to give myself the gift of creating, simply for the sake of it.

It’s something I’ve promised myself all year as a creative practice, but somehow it never quite happens.

The larkspur was so bent I couldn’t sell it to florists, and the peonies and roses were already dropping their petals. By all commercial standards, their time was up. But gathered together, I actually quite love this unexpected bouquet.

A little reminder that not everything has to be productive, perfect, or saleable to have value. Sometimes it’s worth making space for a bit of creative play, just because.

It’s not often that we need to deadhead our sweet peas in the glasshouse, but that was the first job of the day with Sarah and Kate from on work placement with us.

The reward An abundant bucket of sweet peas to take home.

Few flowers can compete with the scent of sweet peas filling the glasshouse with their unmistakable fragrance and reminding us why they’re such a favourite at this time of year.
