The tradition of fishermen of the islands of the Venice Lagoon is to paint their houses in bright colours so that they could see the low lying islands in winter and in foggy conditions. A favourite colour is a turquoise called “Tiffany blue”. Used on walls or in decor this colour is fresh and airy, bringing calm and alightness of spirit to the interior. It can also create an air of sophistication, especially when combined with touches of grey or black.
