A message from someone looking for a TGGS alumni:
Richard Taylor messages: Hi, wondered if anyone could help me here, just like one of the old posts previous, frustratingly her surname escapes me but have a little bit of background bout who I'm enquiring about. In 1989 a group of us attended the Reading festival, Lucy being one, she attended the school 82 to 87, from memory she had strawberry blond hair, Lived in Paignton in the 80s early 90s and worked in the spar Paignton part time while studying. She has an older sister who moved to London early 90s. We wrote to each other for a short while but sadly moving around in life we broke contact. Would love to hear from somebody who is in touch with her and find out how she is, may be get some copies of photos from the day as i recall she had a camera at the festival, would appreciate any help, thank you.
Please message through TGGS messenger with any feedback.
TGGS Old Girls' Association
Torquay Girls' Grammar School Old Girls Association, for girls trying to get in touch with old friends and to learn about events in the school today.
TOGA (TGGS Old Girls’ Association) was started in its current form 20 years ago after the celebrations to mark the 80th year of TGGS. The idea was to form a point of contact for girls trying to get in touch with friends from school days and for those who are interested to keep abreast of current events / developments in the school. At present, members receive a newsletter three times a year and we

The Hearing Support Unit at St Margaret’s school in Torquay is under threat of closure. The decision was cowardly made by the council behind closed doors.
The petition can only be signed by those living in Torbay area so I cannot be counted as I now live away (Bristol). However, as a former pupil of the school and the unit, I feel very strongly about this and hope that anyone still living in the area could sign this petition as recognition that I benefited from being at that school to get valuable support in my early years education. I truly believe I would not be where I am today without that start in life
Many thanks

We welcomed Janet Pottinger, Chair of TOGA (Torquay Old Girls' Association) into school on Friday, seen here with Sarah Forster and Emma Browne.
We are indebted to Janet and all members of TOGA for their incredible dedication to raising funds for our school over the years; past donations having funded projects including outdoor seating, the rose garden and redecoration of the entrance vestibule.
Following a business plan drawn up by our Student Council, TOGA very generously agreed to support the funding of a Multicultural Map, to be displayed in the main school corridor, which will be a visual representation of the diversity in our school community.
Funds donated are also being used towards a Cultural Diversity Day Celebration on 3rd May where Cultural Champions will hold workshops with our students - watch this space!!! 👀

Does anyone know the whereabouts or have a contact for alumni Julie Hare and Paula Hare who were at TGGS during the 1980's? TOGA has been contaced by their cousin, Maxine Mason, who has lost touch with them but is keen to make contact. She has asked if her contact details can be passed on to them if anyone is able to help with finding them. Thank you!
