And we are in! The children are already making themselves at home in the new playroom 🏡

On Monday we move to our new home, so today was a last moment..the last day childminding in this room. We are onto bigger things, a dedicated playroom, a big garden for the children to play in....things I've wanted for my childminding business for a long time. But I also want to remember this space and how it hasn't only been my family that ate dinners here, but all my extra family. Little people who have played, slept, danced, painted, shared meals (and had the occasional tantrum 😂) in this little room. It feels very strange seeing it all boxed up. I can't wait to show them around next week and I'm sure they'll help the new playroom feel like home straight away 🏡

After a lovely week of annual leave spent with my family, I am preparing for the start of summer holiday care tomorrow. You might think it's planning exciting outings and educational activities but if I'm honest it's me chopping an incredible amount of watermelon 😂

Some of the ways we are keeping cool in the sun this week. It was really noticeable how much cooler it was in the woods. Yesterday the children enjoyed the day paddling in the stream and a picnic in the shade, followed by home made fruit lollies. Today we've got water play and a makeshift shade.

We have a space available in September 2026, to join our little group on Thursdays and Fridays.

I offer funded childcare, either term time only or stretched to cover holidays.

With 18 years of childcare experience I offer home from home childcare, lots of outings making the most of our beaches, woodland and parks, soft play and regular playgroups.

Qualified with an Early Years Education Degree, Paediatric First Aid and Child Protection training.

I had some helpers today getting all these broad beans from our allotment out of their pods. We read the story "Beans on Toast" and learned how beans grow. It was a lovely moment of calm connection before a busy, active morning playing at The Boulder Bunker for some literal climbing the walls.

This week is National Childminding Week. At this point I've been doing this long enough that it's not just a job or career. It's part of who I am. These little people fill up my days with so many lovely moments. Here are some photos to share the and to show my appreciation for the other childminders I've met along the way, that have become friends and make the job even better ❤️
