It's nearly Easter! So we have been on an egg hunt today with another one planned for tomorrow! We learned a little bit about the Easter story at playgroup and made pretty crosses too, and we will be carrying on our spring theme after Easter and hopefully getting out in some sunshine!

These pom poms, lemon squeezers and potion bottles and gutters have given us hours of fun outside, despite e. The children have been using their fine motor skills to pop pom poms into the narrow necks of the bottles, then working out different ways to get them out again. They've practiced strengthening their grip squeezing water out of the pom poms, used gross motor skills to throw them and compare the size of splashes, poured water through colanders to make rain and more!

I'm on a mission to find some new healthy options for snacks for the little ones, we usually have toast and fruit at about 9am before we go out but I've made something new today! This morning's snack, yoghurt, blueberry and honey loaf, fruit and bread sticks!

One of my favorite things about childminding is the amount of varied outdoor play we can do, especially with the beach on our doorstep. Thank goodness for puddle suits!

With the rain and wind battering us here in Torquay again, we had a nice quiet morning with some indoor activities to help develop fine motor skills whilst others were sleeping, then a trip to soft play to get the wiggles out! We were very happy to get outside to play yesterday though!

A reminder for parents and carers, you don't have to be doing extra things and planning activities all the time. Little ones are learning all the time, every day activities are enough, especially at this time of year when we're all busy making the magic happen!

We had so much fun with the fake snow yesterday, I finally accepted that the weather was not going be nice enough to enjoy playing with it outside so I brought it inside! Clean up wise, I do not recommend trying this at home, but the children loved it!

Afrer some cold days out, I've bought some new extra warm cosy toes for my double buggy, they're so snuggly I wish I could get in too! 😁

I haven't fully decorated for Christmas yet, (I'm a December person!) but with only 4 weeks left of term, I decided the children might need time to play with the Nativity set and the other Christmas figures! I am very excited to start our Christmas craft this week too! Leah Jackson Child Minder and I have lots of ideas!

This term has been filled with a mix of establishing familiar routines to help everyone feel secure and lots of outdoor and indoor experiences to help develop their sense of wonder. We've been to playgroups, soft play, woods, beaches and gardens, played with water, sand, conkers, pine cones, paint, glue, chia seed slime and dinosaurs. We've made Halloween potions and even had a firework party for all the little ones and their families. Now we're just getting ready to start our Christmas craft and activities! i
It has been pretty busy and most of the photos I've taken have the children's faces in them so you'll have to take my word for it and a small selection of pics!
