π£ Operation RESOLUTE Update: Arrest made related to qualification fraud
A 37-year-old man from the Manchester area has been arrested as part of our investigation into suspected qualification fraud.
On Wednesday 17 December 2025, officers from Greater Manchester Police arrested the individual on suspicion of offences under the Fraud Act 2006. The alleged offences relate to the delivery of SIA licence-linked training.
Following the arrest, staff from our Inspections and Enforcement directorate conducted a search at one residential address and one business premises as part of the ongoing investigation. The arrested male was later released under investigation and enquiries are ongoing.
Pete Easterbrook, our Director of Inspections and Enforcement, said:
βThis arrest sends a clear message that through our work under Operation RESOLUTE, we will not hesitate to take robust action against those who seek to undermine the integrity of the SIA licence-linked qualification. Individuals who place public safety at risk through qualification fraud should be in no doubt that we will identify and pursue them, working closely with our enforcement partners where necessary, in order to protect the public.β
