**LIFETIME HONORARY MEMBERSHIP - alert 3!**

We’re delighted to announce that Ralph Howle has been granted lifetime honorary membership. Ralph is another living legend at the club, having gone from junior racer himself to being the watchful eye behind a generation of racers who’ve gone on to compete nationally and internationally.

For many years he has worked his way up through the levels of instructor and coaching qualifications, now holding the highest qualification level of any instructor currently working at the club, to become our Head Race Coach. You’ll find his own kids gracing the slope, living proof that the coaching sticks close to home. His value to the club goes far beyond the timing gates too - as a past committee Chair he’s helped build the structure and processes that keep TASC running smoothly to this day.

Endlessly warm, generous and dedicated, he’s also the go-to wise counsel on all things skiing and all things club history - ask him anything and settle in.

With the new school year started, we’re gearing up for the full club seasonal re-opening in a few weeks.

Youth Snowsports is suitable for all levels from complete beginner to expert and absolutely PERFECT for anyone going on a school trip later in the year.

LIFETIME HONORARY MEMBERSHIP - alert 2!

We’re delighted to announce that Chris Norton has been granted lifetime honorary membership. Chris is a living legend at the club, sharing the same baseball cap and natural speed as Michael Schumacher!

For many years he has been a leading instructor and committee member with thousands of happy lessons in his rear view mirror. He coached his son and others to an exceptionally high level of racing. For most, he’s the voice at the end of the phone or the red capped instructor creating a party atmosphere for hundreds of kids each season.

More recently he has created an adult race ‘department’, developed our website and booking system and become the Slope Manager, allocating sessions and managing complaints. You’ll find him skiing fast or driving with similar vigour.

Before social media and streaming, there was Ski Sunday. For many of us, it was our first glimpse of the mountains, the World Cup circuit and the thrill of snowsports.

This week, the BBC announced it would not be commissioning Ski Sunday after nearly 50 years on our screens.

At Snowsport England, we see every year how people progress from watching elite athletes to getting involved themselves, whether that's joining a club, taking part in competitions, learning new skills or becoming members of Snowsport England. Visibility matters. Inspiration matters.

As Chemmy Alcott, four-time Winter Olympian and former Ski Sunday presenter, says "the biggest worry is the next generation not seeing the mountains on TV, not hearing the stories, not believing that they can be part of our amazing community".

LIFETIME HONORARY MEMBERSHIP - alert 1!

We’re delighted to announce that Rick McAuley has been granted lifetime honorary membership. Rick is a living legend at the club, one of the longest serving members of the team.

For (ahem) a ‘small’ number of years (edit: decades!) which reflect the fact he has taught 3 generations of the same family on several occasions (!), he has been a leading instructor and committee member.

You might well have seen him teaching in all weathers, or opining that a biblical downpour and near typhoon winds are perfect conditions for skiing on the slope, but his value to the club goes far further than that, bringing solutions to committee meetings and as the overall maintenance manager where amongst many improvements, he devised and built the sprinkler system which was previously deemed unaffordable.

Every club needs and deserves a Rick and we are immensely grateful to have the Mark 1 model, the OG and to say thankyou, for the many years of service given, and those to come.
