Introducing our House Captains for 2026–2027!

Another set of very important badges were presented this morning as we announced our new House Captains for Torre, Tavistock, Syon and Buckland.

Our House Captains have an important role to play in bringing their Houses together, encouraging others and leading by example throughout the year — particularly when those all-important House points and competitions are at stake!

Congratulations to our new Captains. We’re looking forward to seeing you lead your Houses with Respect, Resilience and Responsibility — and perhaps a little healthy competition along the way!

Introducing our Sports Captain & Infant Prefect for 2026–2027!

We are delighted to introduce two more of our newly appointed pupil leaders — our Sports Captain and Infant Prefect!

Both roles are an important part of Abbey life. Our Sports Captain will help champion Team Abbey, encourage others and lead by example across our sporting activities, while our Infant Prefect will be a fantastic role model and friendly face for our younger pupils.

Two special roles, two very proud new badge holders, and plenty to look forward to in the year ahead.

Congratulations to them both — we know they will represent Abbey brilliantly!

Introducing our Head Girl & Head Boy for 2026–2027!

We are delighted to introduce our newly appointed Head Girl and Head Boy, who received their badges this morning.

A very special position of responsibility and the opportunity to represent Abbey, set an example to others and play an important part in school life throughout the year ahead.

We know they will wear their badges with pride and represent our Abbey Values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility brilliantly.

The children know… but you’ll have to wait a little longer!

This morning, we announced our new pupil Positions of Responsibility for the year ahead.

There were some very proud faces as our pupils discovered who would be taking on these important roles — and now we’re getting ready to share the news with you.

Who has been chosen? Who will be wearing a new badge with pride? And who will be taking on one of our key leadership roles this year?

All will be revealed later this evening…

There’s been a very busy baby clinic in our Under 2s!

As part of our People Who Help Us topic, the doll babies have been getting the full treatment – check-ups, listening to their hearts and plenty of tender loving care from our youngest practitioners.

Thankfully, everyone seems to have been given a clean bill of health!

A lovely bit of role play, helping our Under 2s explore caring for others and the important people who help to look after us.

While our Infants were busy hunting for all the colours of the rainbow, our Juniors had a rather different challenge at the Eden Project today…

A storm was coming, and they needed shelter!

Working together, they put their problem-solving, teamwork and practical skills to the test as they built dens strong enough to face the anticipated storm.

What a brilliant day of learning, exploring and making memories together.

After a very full and exciting day, we think everyone has well and truly earned their weekend! We’re certainly glad it’s Friday – our pupils and staff are ready for a very well-deserved rest.

Small but mighty – and possibly rather tired tonight!

We’ve had a fantastic day at the Eden Project and are now on our way home.

Everything is running to schedule and we are currently on track to arrive back at Model Village Car Park at approximately 5.00pm.

A rainbow… made by nature!

Our children have been exploring the Eden Project with a colourful challenge: could they find plants representing every colour of the rainbow?

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet — eyes were everywhere as they searched among the incredible plants around them.

A lovely way to encourage careful observation, curiosity and an appreciation of just how colourful the natural world can be.

Learning beyond the classroom — Abbey style.

We’ve arrived at the Eden Project!

The children are settled in and ready to begin their workshops — and there’s already plenty of excitement and enthusiasm in the room.

Our Juniors have an important challenge ahead: a storm is coming and they need to build a den that can withstand it! Time to put those teamwork, problem-solving and resilience skills into action.

A fantastic start to our whole-school day at Eden. We can’t wait to see how they get on!
