There’s no better way to wrap up a football season than winning another trophy!
The year 3/4 girls team competed in the Saints Southwest Cup today, taking on schools across Torbay & Teignbridge.
Having topped the group table and securing passage to the final by beating Gateshead Primary School, the team faced Rydon. A solid performance from all the girls brought victory and another trophy secured.
All the girls were fantastic and modelled our school values of RESPECT & COLLABORATION perfectly.
Well done to:
Daisy, Jessica, Darcy, Emmy, Heidi, Beau, Isabella and Hazel.

WHAT A WEEK OF FOOTBALL! 💚

The football teams at Sherwell Valley have given the school community so much to celebrate this season and securing an incredible 8 out of 11 titles and trophies this week is a reflection of their outstanding commitment and character.

This weeks highlights include:
- Year 3/4 girls being crowned Devon Champions
- Year 3/4 boys winning the Saints Southwest Bradfords Cup & League Cup Winners
- Year 5/6 girls winning the local Presidents Cup & League Winners
- Year 5/6 boys being crowned Torquay United Community Cup winners & League Winners

Across every age group, the players have shown togetherness, passion, drive and relentless hard work, pushing each other to improve every single day. What has stood out most, however, is their attitude — the determination to learn, develop and never settle for less than their best.

These achievements have not come by chance; they are the reward for a season built on teamwork, resilience and a genuine love for the game. Everyone involved should be immensely proud of what they have accomplished together.

WHAT A SEASON OF FOOTBALL 💚⚽

🌱 KS2 Playground Update! 🌱

The transformation continues! Another beautiful planter has arrived as we keep working hard to refresh our KS2 playground. We are incredibly lucky to have such a supportive community and are so grateful to the local businesses that have helped us get this far.

Now, we need a little more help to bring this latest addition to life! 🌸

We are reaching out to our amazing local businesses and community members for robust, hardy plants that can handle the energy of playground life. If you have any shrubs, perennials, or sturdy greens to spare, we would love to give them a home!

📩 Please contact the school office if you can help us green up our space. Thank you for your continued support! 💚

🌲🐭 Gruffalo Day in Reception 🦊🍂

Today, all 3 Reception classes went down to our school woodlands for a very special Gruffalo Day! 📚✨

The children loved listening to the story brought to life as the teachers re-enacted The Gruffalo in the woods 🌳🦉🐍🦊🐭 The excitement and laughter could be heard all around the woodland area!

Everyone had such a magical morning exploring, storytelling and using their imaginations together. 💚

We are delighted to introduce the newest member of our school community — Tiny Pickle, our beautiful red-footed tortoise! Tiny Pickle is now happily settled into a special home in the entrance to the school office, where children and families can say hello as they arrive each day. We are excited for the children to learn about caring for animals and to enjoy watching Tiny Pickle grow and explore their new surroundings.
