🐞🌿 KS1 Minibeast Hunt 🌿🐞

Last week, our KS1 children had a great time exploring our lovely outdoor space on a minibeast hunt! 🐛🔍
The children searched high and low to discover different minibeasts, explored their microhabitats, and learned about food chains along the way.

A huge thank you to all the families and friends who sponsored our KS2 children in their Two Village Welly Walk Challenge.

Linked to our learning about natural disasters, we wanted to raise money to support communities affected by these events. Our pupils walked over 4 miles across very hilly terrain, showing fantastic determination and resilience throughout.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have raised over £350 for the Emergency Appeal: Nepal Floods. 🌍

🧪✨ After School Club Fun! ✨🧪
Our after-school club got creative this week by making slime! The children loved mixing ingredients, experimenting with textures and creating their own stretchy, squishy slime. There were lots of smiles and of plenty of excitement!

🔍🪨 Year 3 & 4 Science Investigation! 🪨🔍

Our Year 3 and 4 geologists have been exploring the properties of rocks by investigating their hardness, permeability and how they react to acid. The children carried out a range of tests, carefully observed the results and recorded their findings like true scientists.

I am incredibly proud of all our children. They have returned to school with such positive learning attitudes, enthusiasm and a real focus on kindness. Whether they are settling back into familiar routines or starting a new chapter, they have shown resilience, courage and a determination to do their very best. For those who have found the transition a little more challenging, it has been wonderful to see them growing in confidence each day with the support we have put in place. We are so proud of every one of them.

As part of our School Values assemblies, we shared the Kindness Boomerang video and have been looking for ways to spread kindness throughout our school. It has been lovely to see so many thoughtful acts already, from helping friends and including others to using kind words and brightening someone's day.

Let's keep spreading kindness in and beyond our school! 💙

We are looking forward to welcoming all of our children and families back to school on Thursday 3rd September for the start of another exciting year.

A very special welcome goes to our new Reception children and their families. We can't wait for you to become part of the Fourlanesend community and begin your school journey with us.

If you have already set up your ParentPay account, please remember to order your child's lunches online.

The gates will open at 8:35am and close at 8:45am. Please make sure your child arrives on time so they are ready to start the day positively and settled for learning.

We hope you've all had a wonderful summer and can't wait to see everyone on Thursday!

Yesterday, some of our keen readers and writers went to the Exploding Words Festival at Sterts. They had workshops from Zohra Nabi, Tom Palmer and Martin Brown, illustrator of the Horrible Histories books 😁 It was all very inspiring 📚
They had a fantastic day and were a credit to the school - asking super questions, absorbing themselves in each workshop and showing great respect. Thank you Sterts Arts and Environmental Centre. 🙏
