Getting Ready for September

We are really looking forward to welcoming all of our students back to Torpoint Community College in September and starting the new academic year together.

📧 Uniform and equipment reminders have been sent to parents and carers by email to help everyone prepare for the return to College.

We know that a strong start makes a real difference, and we would really appreciate your support in ensuring students arrive ready to learn from day one:

Our expectations around uniform and equipment are about more than simply following rules. They help us create a calm, purposeful environment, reduce unnecessary distractions and ensure that valuable learning time is protected.

Equipment Check – Ready to Learn?

We’ve had a few parents asking what equipment students need to bring to college each day, so here’s a helpful reminder.

To help students be fully prepared for learning, every student should bring:

✅ Pens (black or blue)
✅ Pencil
✅ Ruler
✅ Rubber
✅ Scientific calculator
✅ Whiteboard pen

Helpful extras :
🟢 Highlighters
🖍️ Colouring pencils
📐 Geometry set

Need a calculator?

Students can purchase a scientific calculator through the Maths Department, making it easy to ensure they have the correct model for lessons.

Being prepared with the right equipment helps students make the most of every lesson and reduces unnecessary interruptions to learning.

Thank you for your continued support in checking your child’s bag before they leave for college—it really does make a difference.

TCC Grease Production 2026: What an amazing achievement! Thank you to everyone who played a part in making our production of Grease such a huge success. To our outstanding cast, chorus, and student backstage assistants, your dedication, energy, and teamwork have been inspiring. We couldn't be prouder of all you have accomplished!

A huge congratulations to all of our students who took part in this year's Sports Week. Throughout the week we have seen fantastic effort, determination and sportsmanship across a wide range of events, with every competitor giving their all for their House.

From track races and field events to novelty events such as the egg and spoon, it has been brilliant to see students supporting one another, celebrating success and demonstrating resilience, commitment and pride throughout.

A special well done to everyone who achieved personal bests and to those who set or broke school records – an outstanding achievement! We have a few more events to complete next week to determine the overall winners, which will be announced on Wednesday!

Thank you to all of the staff who helped make the week such a success. Your encouragement and enthusiasm created an amazing atmosphere.

Well done to everyone involved – you should all be incredibly proud of your efforts!

Our Grease Production is almost here! With the warm weather set to continue, please feel free to bring a handheld fan and a bottle of water to stay comfortable.

We will have a range of refreshments available, including ice lollies, hot and cold drinks, sweets, and muffins. Please remember to bring some change if you would like to purchase any refreshments.
