A remarkable few days brought the 2026 Sri Lanka trip to a memorable close, as the boys completed work on the new classroom space at the CAL Centre, refreshed the existing classrooms and playground, and celebrated the conclusion of the cricket tournament and their extraordinary partnership with their new friends.

From a first trip to the beach with their buddies to the emotional farewells, followed by visits to Pidurangala, Sigiriya and the British High Commission, as well as an unforgettable elephant safari, the trip was filled with friendship, teamwork, new experiences and lasting memories.

Xander (WW1) has been selected to progress to the England Hockey U16 Boys Assessment.

Following a fantastic season, during which he played a significant role in helping the Novi secure a national title, Xander was nominated by the School and subsequently selected through the England Age Group Open Assessments.

Master in Charge of Hockey, Kieron Walsh, said “The selection process was highly competitive, making this an outstanding achievement and a fitting reflection of Xander’s talent, commitment and hard work.”

A record-breaking year for GCSE results!

A remarkable 50 per cent of results were awarded a 9, the highest grade possible; 79 per cent of grades were 9/8 (equivalent to A*), and 94 per cent of grades were 9-7 (equivalent to A*/A), making these the best GCSE results outside the Covid years.

Over half the year group (83 boys) have achieved nine or more 9, 8 or A* grades, adding to the outstanding A Level results celebrated last week.
