Product Evaluation Assistant
Key Accountabilities for 2026:
Purpose of role:
•To facilitate the development of data driven supply chains, embracing AI and fast emerging tools to transform the consistency of fresh produce.
•Internal organization and running of product evaluation process.
•Support the technical management team with systems and reports, along with store visits where required.
Product Evaluation:
•Work with Consumer Panel partner to organize regular samples to go for panelling.
•Work with growers, breeders and internal dps stakeholders to collate samples of new and existing products to be sent to Consumer Panel for testing.
•Organise samples to be transported to the Consumer Panel on agreed dates for panels to take place.
•Measure size, weight, firmness, colour, brix and brix acid ratios for varieties and log in Product evaluation database, with a focus on a new blueberry data collection project.
•Measure shelf life of samples sent to the consumer panel and log in Product Evaluation database.
•Attend panels on occasion to ensure being completed in line with SOP and run objectively.
•Upload results to Product Evaluation database, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and easily reported upon.
•Conduct packaging and shelf-life trial work as required.
•Work to support the implementation and continual development of Business Objects.
Product Evaluation Assistant
Development:
•Visit suppliers and breeders to review varieties and feedback on performance
•Expand scope of Product Evaluation to other products outside of Berry category.
Support Product evaluation project collaborating with suppliers and research company to panel existing and new varieties and capture data.
Technical Team Support:
•Collate data and work with IT partners to create a database of varieties, breeders, licenses etc for use by external and internal stakeholders.
•Manage the supplier portal for quality intake reports including adding and amending contact addresses and users, liaising with I.T. support to help troubleshoot access issues, and communicating with suppliers.
•Support the technical team with collecting data, data input and internal taste panels.
