What a row-mance!

Yesterday, Team Pier Pressure took to the water at the Tonbridge Dragonboat Races — and what a day we had!

We won one race, lost two, but that certainly didn’t stop us from having a marvellous time. We may not have been top of the leaderboard, but we were definitely in the same boat when it came to having fun.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and cheered us on — your support really helped us keep rowing with the flow! And an extra big thank you to the wonderful volunteers who stepped in as honorary members of Team Pier Pressure when we needed an extra pair of oars. You were absolutely oar-some! 💛❤️

🎉 What a fantastic first day at Weald! 🎉

Today we welcomed our new Year 7 cohort to both our Sevenoaks and Tonbridge campuses — the start of an exciting new chapter! 💛❤️

It was also a big day for our Year 10 students, getting settled and ready to set themselves up for GCSE success, while our Year 12 students began their next chapter, meeting new forms and getting settled into Sixth Form. ✨

From new friendships and new beginnings to new challenges and opportunities, there’s so much to look forward to!

🎉 Welcome back to Weald! 🎉

It’s lovely to have our school community back with us as we begin a brand-new academic year. We’re especially pleased to welcome our Sixth Form students who did not study at Weald for KS4 joining us today for Sixth Form Orientation, alongside some of our incoming Year 7 students taking part in Enhanced Transition.

For everyone else, we can’t wait to welcome you back tomorrow! 👋✨

While the corridors may be a little quieter without our students, we’re enjoying looking back at some of the highlights from an incredible year at Weald.

This throwback to Sports Day captures everything we love about our community — teamwork, determination, friendly competition and plenty of smiles!

We hope our students are having a fantastic summer break, enjoying time with family and friends, making memories and getting some well-deserved rest. We’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back and seeing what the next chapter brings! ✨

We’re missing the buzz of our students around school, so we’re looking back at some of the fantastic adventures they enjoyed before the holidays began.

✨ Monday Memories! ✨

Looking back to a wonderful Year 7 adventure at Penshurst Place. Our students explored the fascinating history of the house, enjoyed a beautiful walk through the grounds, discovered treasures in the toy museum and were even treated to an open-air performance of a one-minute fairy tale! 🏰📚

A fantastic day full of curiosity, creativity and brilliant behaviour from our students, who were wonderful ambassadors for Weald.

We can’t wait to see all that this amazing year group achieves as they step into Year 8! 🌟

What an incredible achievement! 🏊‍♀️🥈🥉

Huge congratulations to Weald of Kent Grammar School student **Amalie**, who has had an outstanding Commonwealth Games, securing **Silver in the 400m Individual Medley** with a fantastic new personal best, followed by **Bronze in the 200m Individual Medley**.

These remarkable performances are a testament to Amalie's talent, dedication and determination. We are incredibly proud of everything she has achieved and can't wait to see what comes next in her swimming journey.

🔍 Crime scene tape, courtroom debates and prison design... just another day during Enrichment Week at the end of the summer term!

We're looking back to when our students put their investigative skills to the test as they examined a crime scene, explored the criminal justice system and even designed their own women's prison. Their creativity, teamwork and thoughtful ideas were incredible to see.

Whatever the challenge, our students never fail to inspire us. 👏

🎨 Creativity in every colour, line and print... ✨

We're so proud to celebrate the incredible artwork created by our Key Stage 3 students this year. From observational drawing and colour theory to clay, printmaking, collage and mixed media, our young artists have embraced every challenge with imagination, curiosity and confidence.

Along the way they've explored the work of artists including Paul Klee and Rosalind Monks, experimented with a wide range of techniques and materials, and developed their own unique creative voices. Every sketch, sculpture and print tells a story of growing skill, resilience and self-expression.

We can't wait to share more of their fantastic work! 🎉🎨

And just like that... the summer holidays are here!

What a privilege it has been to spend another year with our incredible students. From classrooms to sports fields, performances to trips, every day has been filled with moments that have made us proud to be part of the Weald of Kent community.

To our Year 13 leavers – thank you for everything you've brought to our school. We wish you every success as you take your next exciting steps. We know you'll achieve amazing things.

To all of our current students, have a wonderful, well-deserved summer. We can't wait to welcome you back in September, alongside the newest members of the Weald family, ready for another year of learning, friendship and opportunity.
