A precise, snappily dressed middle-aged man who relies heavily on measurements. A theatrical character. Russell is easygoing and likeable, adding levity and charm, often acting as the “cheerleader” of the group.

🍞 Phil Hollinghurst
A silver-haired, blue-eyed judge with sky-high standards and zero time for sloppy bakes. A theatrical take on the stern “bread expert” archetype, he’s all about precision, pride, and the perfect crust.

🍰 Pam Lee
Poised, sharp, and quietly fierce, Pam balances Phil with wit and warmth. Think elegance with a side of brutal honesty—and maybe a fondness for a cheeky drink.

🎤 Kim
One half of the presenting duo, Kim is playful, chaotic in the best way, and keeps the tent energy light when things start to collapse (sometimes literally).

Kim’s comedic partner-in-crime. Jim is the enthusiastic, slightly unhinged hype man who keeps everything moving with charm and jokes.

A carer from Blackpool. Shy, insecure and constantly doubting her abilities, she enters the tents as a back up contestant. A fan-favourite baker with heart, determination, and a big emotional journey. Her storyline is about self-belief rising like the perfect sponge.

🎂 Ben
A gentle, widowed policeman who turns to baking to connect with his young daughter, Lily. Competitive but grounded, Ben brings quiet strength and ambition to the tent, often pushing himself (and his pastries) to the limit.

An outspoken, cheeky Cockney grandmother with three ex-husbands, known for adding excessive amounts of booze to her bakes. A comforting presence in the tent—warm, witty, and heartfelt.

🌶 Hassan
A 17-year-old Syrian refugee and A-level student who relies on instinct rather than recipes.The quietly intense competitor who brings focus, skill, and a slightly more serious edge to the baking chaos.

A nine-year-old girl serving as the emotional heart of the show. She secretly applies for her widowed father, Ben, to enter the competition to help him heal after her mother's passing. Wise and loving, she supports her dad while bringing warmth to the competition.
