The trainer today became a learner! And passed!!

Today LIFT Councillors Jason Lejeune, Christopher Berry and Steve Bush went on a Chapter 8 Signing, Lighting and Guarding (SLG) training course and have all passed🎉
In the test Chris got 20/20‼️

They also participated in a practical assessment about how to safely close a road for works. They are now qualified to apply for road closures and if the town council wants to join the road warden scheme (to fill potholes, clear overgrown verges and clean street signs) they are now qualified to do this and organise / supervise volunteers to do this 😁

Great work guys 💪🏼

LIFT councillors- always working for the good of our community.

Naoki Higashida was 13 when he wrote one of the most important books ever published about autism. He did it without speaking a single word out loud.

Using a letter board, Naoki answered 58 questions about what it feels like to be him — why he repeats himself, why eye contact is hard, why certain sounds are unbearable, and why he still finds joy in the world.

The Reason I Jump was translated into more than 30 languages. When author David Mitchell read it, he wept. He had an autistic son — and said it was the closest he’d ever come to hearing his son’s inner voice.

Naoki is now in his 20s. He’s still writing.

One boy. One alphabet board. An entire world explained.
