This week, our book has been ‘How to hide a lion at school.’ Alongside our reading, we've been focusing on safety. A wonderful parent brought in a pony for the children to ride, and we talked about how to stay safe around the pony. We also explored controlled risks with our soft play equipment, practising jumping and climbing with help from the adults. The children enjoyed making sandwiches for their snacks as we learned about safely preparing food. We looked at road signs and discussed their meanings, even decorating our own and we explored the different buildings in our village. Today, we had an unexpected learning opportunity when a water pipe burst outside the nursery. The children watched the workers and digger from the window as they started to dig up the road, giving us a chance to talk about what was happening and the importance of safety in those situations.😊

This week at nursery, we had an exciting journey exploring outer space through our book of the week, Little Bunny Goes to the Moon🌙🐇. The children have been curious and engaged, learning about gravity, rockets, spaceships, planets, and the wonders of life beyond Earth. We've enjoyed a range of creative activities, making beautiful star and moon mobiles using marble painting and chalks. The little ones had fun with alien handprints and tried their hands at a gravity worksheet. In our sensory play, we explored moon gloop and made tasty moon rice cakes. The children also had a wonderful time drawing rockets, painting ‘moon rocks’, and even creating their own telescopes! It has been a week full of imagination and discovery. 🔭🪐☄️🚀👩🏼‍🚀🌟

This week has been a wonderful adventure for our little learners as we focused on the book "Giraffes Can't Dance." 🌎We explored the fascinating continent of Africa, learnt about jungle animals, and had lots of fun with music and dancing. The downstairs group had a fantastic time making different animal masks, creating a tasty fruit salad, and enjoying some lively dancing to African music. They also engaged in lovely animal colouring activities.👏 Meanwhile, the upstairs group was busy with exciting giraffe sensory bags, where they pushed Pom poms onto the giraffes’ spots. They created a sensory jungle to explore and even painted their very own giraffes.🦒 Today, everyone came together for a fun game of "Guess the Animal Sound" and tried their hand at welly boot painting. They stood in paint and ran across large pieces of paper, leaving behind beautiful patterns. What a delightful week it has been! 💙

Happy Friday, everyone! 😊This week, in our learning journey, we explored the enchanting world of animals with our book of the week, Buddy’s Rainforest Rescue. 🦧We focused on habitats, rivers, deforestation, and even touched on mammals and evolution. Our adventures took us on lovely walks around the village, including a special trip to the farm where we had great fun picking blackberries.☀️ We turned these juicy treasures into a delicious blackberry crumble to share. In our creative corners, the children have been busy painting animals and getting crafty with gluing and sticking. 🥰We also had a wonderful time making our own pizzas and sweet cornflake cakes. There have been plenty of animal stories to enjoy together, sparking lots of imagination and discussion.🫶🏼 Thank you for being part of our nursery family, and we look forward to another engaging week ahead!💗

This week at Little Angels has been both busy and enriching! ☀️ Our book of the week, "Mother Earth is Weeping," inspired us to learn about important topics like climate change, deforestation, and endangered animals. 🌎🦁Through our activities, the children explored these themes hands-on. We enjoyed water play with animal toys, which sparked wonderful conversations about the creatures that inhabit our world.🫶🏼 Our scavenger hunts around the village allowed us to connect with nature, and we had a lovely time playing in the park together. 🛝The creativity didn’t stop there! The children made beautiful leaf collages and took part in painting and drawing sessions, expressing their thoughts about the environment in their own unique ways. 🎨It has been a lovely week of learning, creativity, and exploration! Thank you for being a part of our Little Angels community💗

This week at nursery, we had a wonderful time exploring our book of the week, "Eat Your Greens Goldilocks." 🫛👧🏼The children engaged in learning all about nutrition and healthy eating, while also discussing the importance of keeping ourselves safe and maintaining a balanced diet. We introduced meditation and yoga into our routine, which the children enjoyed immensely.🧘🏼‍♀️ They participated in plenty of yoga sessions, alongside sensory and messy play activities. Creativity was in full swing with lots of painting, gluing, sticking, and colouring. 🎨Additionally, we took some lovely walks around the village to the park, allowing us to enjoy nature together. It has been a week filled with growth, fun and new experiences.!💗

This week, the children have been wonderfully involved in our exploration of the theme 'our village', inspired by the delightful story of 'The Smartest Giant in Town'👨 We've taken some lovely walks around Rackenford, discovering our village's special places like the church, shop, school park, and even the farm. Each stroll has been an adventure, and we were lucky to spot several animals, including horses and tortoises, which sparked lots of excited discussions!☀️ To bring our experiences to life, the children have had a fantastic time using pens and paint to recreate scenes from our walks. We've also enjoyed playing a pairs game featuring the pictures we took around the village, helping to reinforce what we’ve seen and learned😃 We are so proud of our older children, who have been great role models by looking after the younger ones during our outings and sharing their road safety knowledge. It’s heartwarming to see them all learning and growing together!💗

As we wrap up our first week of summer holidays, we wanted to share some of the lovely activities we’ve been enjoying.🫶🏼 This week, we explored the delightful book 'The Nutty Nut Chase', which opened our eyes to the wonders of nature and animals. 💗We've been out and about on many walks around the village, visiting the park and even the farm. 🚜The children where even lucky enough to go and pay a visit to one of their friends chickens and tortoises which we all absolutely loved ! 🐢We also got hands-on by making bird feeders, which is a wonderful way to connect with the wildlife in our gardens. 🪹In addition to all that, we learned about symmetry through beautiful butterflies, allowing the children to use their creative skills in a fun and engaging way. It has been a week full of discovery and joy, and we’re so grateful that the children are making the most of their summer break with us! ☀️

This week at nursery, we’ve been exploring the topic of transitions, especially as some of our friends prepare to take the exciting step into school in September✏️We discussed various types of transitions, like moving houses, family changes, and personal growth. It was lovely to see the children engage with this topic, as we looked at photos of ourselves when we were younger. 💗We also had a wonderful time playing with dolls, pretending to pack suitcases and cardboard boxes as we imagined trips and new adventures. The children drew delightful pictures of their families and created selfportraits using mirrors, capturing their own unique features and expressions😊This has been a heartwarming experience, helping everyone think about the changes ahead while celebrating all the moments that make up our lives🥰
