Celebrating Success in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge
We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 and 8 students who recently took part in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Junior Challenge!
A fantastic 107 students rose to the challenge, demonstrating impressive mathematical reasoning, precision, and problem-solving skills across the 60-minute competition. It was wonderful to see so many students embracing the opportunity and pushing themselves to think creatively and logically.
Their hard work truly paid off, with an amazing set of results:
28 Bronze certificates
14 Silver certificates
2 Gold certificates
1 student qualifying for the prestigious UKMT Junior Kangaroo Challenge
To celebrate these fantastic achievements, our Maths department hosted a special breakfast for all certificate winners - a lovely way to recognise their dedication and success.
We couldn’t be prouder of all students who took part. You have represented yourselves and Tiverton High School brilliantly!

Year 11 Leavers Morning
Today we marked a truly special milestone as we said goodbye (for now!) to our wonderful Year 11 students. After five memorable years at THS, this moment marks the beginning of their next chapter - and what an incredible journey it has been.
The morning was filled with shirt signing, heartfelt messages from staff, and plenty of shared laughter, giving students one last chance to come together and reflect on the friendships, achievements, and memories that have made this year group so special.
Although it is never easy to say goodbye, we are incredibly proud of every single one of them. Each student has been a valued part of our school community, and they will be greatly missed. At the same time, we are so excited to see what the future holds and all that they will go on to achieve.
Enjoy a well-deserved summer, make unforgettable memories, and remember - you will always be part of THS so don’t forget to keep in touch.
With prom just around the corner, we are really looking forward to celebrating with you all once more!
Wishing you every success, Year 11 - we are so proud of you!

Celebrating Student Success at THS!
We are incredibly proud to share some fantastic achievements from our students!
Hannah continues to shine in netball following her success at regional trials earlier this year. As well as playing for Titans, she has been selected to represent a county team and is part of the South West Regional Team, Titans Rockets, who have had an incredible season, winning the Division 2 South League - a fantastic achievement!
Lily has also had an outstanding run in darts. As part of her women’s team, Lily helped secure victory in the Tower Cup, and has gone on to reach the semi-finals in the doubles league - a brilliant accomplishment!
Francesca has represented her team internationally, competing in Portugal in a trampolining competition, where her team achieved an incredible 1st place finish!
The students have shown exceptional dedication, consistently demonstrating commitment, perseverance, and a genuine passion for their sports, inspiring those around them with the effort, determination, and pride they bring to every opportunity.
We are so proud of all three students. They truly embody the spirit of THS both inside and outside the classroom.
Please join us in congratulating Hannah, Lily, and Francesca!

Year 10 Careers Day at Bicton College
We were delighted to take a group of our Year 10 students to Bicton College for an inspiring and hands-on Careers Day
This fantastic opportunity allowed students to explore a range of post-16 pathways and gain insight into different career options. Throughout the day, they took part in two engaging taster sessions, choosing from areas such as Animal Management, Agriculture, Equine Studies, and Construction.
From learning how to lay slabs and climbing trees, to riding an artificial horse and feeding and caring for animals, students fully immersed themselves in each experience. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to try something new!
Opportunities like this are invaluable in helping our students consider their futures and discover potential pathways beyond school.
A huge thank you to the team at Bicton College for their warm welcome and for creating such an engaging and memorable day.

A Huge Thank You to Eddie the Photographer!
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Eddie the Photographer into THS, capturing the everyday moments that make our school so special. From the classroom to the playground, Eddie has beautifully documented the energy, creativity, and spirit of our students and staff.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, care, and talent that has gone into bringing school life at THS to life through the lens.
We can’t wait to share everything we’ve captured with our community - keep an eye out!
Thank you, Eddie, for helping us celebrate

Group 1 - Round 3 Match Report
What a fantastic evening by the lake for our students! The boys enjoyed another brilliant round of fishing, with several beautiful carp brought to the bank - a real credit to their patience and skill.
With anglers spread all around the lake, it was great to see them thinking creatively and exploring those hidden spots - under overhanging bushes, tight to lily pads, tucked in the reeds, and in those quiet corners often overlooked. That curiosity and determination really paid off, and it’s exciting to see how this approach might inspire Group 2 as they take to the banks next week!
A huge congratulations to Zack, Archie C, Barnaby, Patryk and Rokas, who have now secured their places in the final - a fantastic achievement
We’d also like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so special:
Adrian at J28 Tackle & Bait for his continued support
Chris Danby and Tiverton Angling Club for hosting us
Mrs Harris for giving her time (and even joining in the action!)
And a special mention to Archie’s mum for keeping everyone fuelled with a mountain of snacks - very much appreciated!
Another round full of teamwork, encouragement and great spirit - we couldn’t be prouder of the way our students support each other while doing something they love.

THS Swim Team
15 of our students proudly represented THS in our first ever local swimming gala at Blundell’s, competing alongside Wellington School - a fantastic milestone for our school community!
It was truly wonderful to see students who don’t always get the chance to represent THS step forward and shine in a new sporting environment. The focus was on participation and enjoyment, with every swimmer taking part in at least two races - and what an effort they all gave!
A special mention to Kady, who took on the role of team manager brilliantly, offering encouragement and inspiration to everyone throughout the event.
We are incredibly proud of all involved -not only for their performances in the pool, but for the positive team spirit they showed.
We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
