This week at Milldene, our story is We’re Going on a Bear Hunt 🐻🪾🍃🌪️❄️🌊🪨🛏️

A firm favourite every year, the children absolutely love bringing this story to life, especially outdoors in the garden, where their imaginations can run wild.

Today, they had a wonderful time exploring a Bear Hunt-themed tuff tray, as well as enjoying story time under the willow dome with Auntie Syd 💞.

This week our topic is Growth and Seasons, and our story is Jack and the Beanstalk 🍃🍂🌼🫘📚

The children will be exploring these tuff trays, looking at how plants grow and how the seasons change. We’re looking forward to lots of hands-on learning and great conversations about the world around us 🌍☺️

On the topic of spring we have also been learning about mini beasts 🌻.

Learning about little creatures is equally as Important as learning about the big ones!

It supports the understanding of the natural world, fostering compassion for living things and curiosity about habitats 🐞🦋🪲🐜🕷️.

A firm favourite has definitely been the shoe shop role play 👟🛍️

The children have enjoyed experimenting with the concept of money and demonstrating brilliant collaborative play and imagination skills when acting out real life scenarios 😊.

This week topic at preschool is ….

“Thoughts and feelings” ❤️🩵🩶🩷💛💚

We have done lots of activities already that are themed around one of our favourite books “The colour monster”.

We love this book at preschool because it helps the children identify, name and manage their emotions by associating feelings with colour!

The children have enjoyed celebrating all the people they love this week by doing lots of valentines themed crafts and activities 💜💗♥️

This has sparked lots of discussion between the children about who they love and why 🥰

Conversations like these are important and help to support the children’s emotional intelligence, empathy and social skills 🥰

Graduation 2025 🎓🎈🎊

Another fabulous send off for a beautiful bunch of children. We hope all that attended enjoyed their beautiful singing, dance moves and a yummy picnic. We want to thank each and everyone one of you for making these days so enjoyable for all. We wish you all the best on your future endeavours 💙🩵💙
