World Book Day 2023! 😃🤩📚📖

This week at Tiddlywinks all children have been engaging in book related learning and activities. We've been retelling our favourite tales through puppet shows and imaginative play, dressing up as various characters, listening to lots of stories, decorating book marks and designing book covers! 🥳📝📖

This week Tiddlywinks has been getting in the World Cup spirit! The children have enjoyed playing football, passing to friends and scoring goals! We have also used various materials to create footballs, pitches and flags! ⚽️🥅🏆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We will be cheering for England tonight! Have the best weekend all - we look forward to another fun filled week from Monday 😁💛

Children In Need 2022 ☺️🫶

Today we have recognised Children In Need through dressing up, learning how to help others and engaging in a variety of Pudsey and Blush activities! Including dot-to-dot connection drawings, count to ten work sheets, creating our own spot patterns, disco dancing and much more! We have all had lots of fun for a very special cause.... thank you! 😍🤩🌟

This week Tiddlywinks children have engaged with Remembrance Day themed activities and learning. We have learnt lots about the special day and all children have displayed brilliant understanding, respect and participation 🥰✨🎖

We have all taken part in the two minute silence this morning, created clay poppies, painted, collaged and written to show our different interpretations and ideas 🫶🌟

Our pre-school stay and play sessions were a hoot! 😆😜🎃

The children and grown ups made potions, moulded brain dough and designed a halloween masterpiece! 👩‍🎨🧑‍🔬🧙‍♀️

Pre-school have been focusing on a dinosaur theme to mark National Dinosaur Day; from sensory dino swamps to measuring tails and creating their own interpretation of a dinosaur, they have explored them thoroughly.. 🦕🦖🌱

Toddlers have focused on stories through messy sensory scenes and a 'We're going on a bear hunt' sensory trail outdoors.. 📖🧸

Babies have all enjoyed lots of creative play: making marks with various drawing materials, creating display artwork with cork printing and hand and foot prints and dough modelling.. 🎨😄

All of the children have been busy celebrating Vesak Day today; we have discovered the meaning behind the Buddhist celebration and joined in with rose water dough modelling, creating lotus flower and mandala designs and bathing Buddha.. 🤲🌝💎

Take a look at babies brilliant craft work; all children in baby room have been engaging in gluing, sticking, stamping and creating towards this wonderful display to celebrate Eid 🥳🤩

We hope all children and families celebrating Eid have had a wonderful time filled with joy and smiles 😁✨

Preschool have been creating Mehndi patterns today; developing their fine motor skills with a piping bag painting technique 🤲🎨 This activity sparked lots of interest and engagement; the children really enjoyed creating designs and talking about their choices 😃🤩

This week amongst Easter activities, Library trips and lots of outdoor fun, we have all been learning about St George's Day 🏰

The children have enjoyed craft activities; making shields, crowns, flags and much more! Pre-school and Toddlers have loved small world castle adventures and dressing up as knights 🛡⚔️

Pre-school and Toddlers have been learning together this week due to it being half-term; they have enjoyed a walk to the local Library for some special stories, rhymes and an egg hunt! 📖📚🥕
They have also been busy exploring Easter sensory trays, baking and decorating biscuits and creating Easter crowns 🍪🖍👑

Babies have enjoyed Easter rhyme time sessions, small world adventures and LOTS of crafts including gluing, sticking, colouring, painting and much more 🌟🎨

Tiddlywinks will be closed for the bank holidays; opening as normal for all out of term time children on Tuesday 19th April :)

Babies have been exploring some sunset sensory painting, using their hands and finger prints to create a new alphabet display and enjoyed a musical extravaganza ☀️🎨🎷

Toddlers have been learning all about space; discovering different planets, aliens and magical creatures! They have built rockets and used various mark making methods to create a new space themed display room 🚀🪐💫

Pre-school have continued their Spring investigation; planting new flowers and herbs in the pre-school entrance and using straws to create flower paintings! 🌼🌸🌺🌱🌿

Throughout this week, all of the children have been happy to see the warm weather return and enjoyed spending time outside; building, crawling, painting, chalking, biking.... it's all been going on! ☀️🎳🏏

Pre-school have been busy creating some beautiful sun catchers through threading beads, pasta shapes and gluing and sticking 🌤🎨

Toddlers have been working on their senses and differentiating between different facial features whilst discovering their uses 👃👂

Babies have enjoyed lot's of messy play this week with natural paints, wet and dry sand and much more ⛱😁

Pre-school were busy making bird feeders to hang up in our garden last week! 🐦🦜🌳
From start to finish they have used their creative craft skills to decorate holders, got messy with ingredients to form bird food and used observation skills to look out for the birds attracted to the new feeding spot! 🔎🌰🍂🐤

Pre-school have been learning all about Spring season and the different animals, nature changes and weather types that come with it 🐰🦋🌷
We all celebrated pancake day with some delicious fruit pancakes and made our own version in a messy flour tray! 🍓🍋🥞
We have also made dinosaur prints in gloop 🦖🦕 Mixed some magical flower soup/perfume 🌸🌺🌼 and taste tested some new fruits 🍍🥝

World book day is approaching! Thursday 3rd March 2022 😀📚📖
All children are welcome to attend nursery dressed as their favourite story character.
Each room will be engaging in a variety of exciting reading based learning activities throughout the week 😄
If you have any ideas to share with us or your little one has a favourite story at the minute, please do let the practitioners know so that we can incorporate this into the children’s learning – thank you 😁📚

Good afternoon everyone 😁
We have had a super busy New Year here and have enjoyed welcoming back all of our Tiddlywinks children plus lots of new children over the past two weeks who are settling in brilliantly and making friends 🤩

This week pre-school have been learning all about the importance of oral health and hygiene - they have created a brilliant display and enjoyed discovering lots of new words and ideas.

Toddlers have been learning about different modes of transport through stories, riding the bikes and scooters and using wheels to make track paintings!

Babies have enjoyed exploring different sounds created by a range of instruments and rhymes. They have also developed their fine motor skills by completing puzzles and exploring maze toys.

Remembrance day, today our older children and staff joined in with the 2 minute silence. We have been learning about why today is special and the importance of the poppy.
