A Little Goodbye ❤️

Today we say goodbye to two very special little ones who have been part of our nursery family for the past 18 months.

What makes their journey even more special is that their family have travelled over an hour each way just to bring them to us. 🥰

That incredible commitment has meant so much to us, and we feel honoured that you chose us to be part of their early years.👶🏼

Over the past 18 months, we have watched both children settle, grow in confidence, make wonderful friendships and develop so many important life skills. It has been such a privilege to watch them flourish and become the happy, capable little people they are today. 👏

Thank you for trusting us with your precious little ones and for making that incredible journey to be part of our nursery family. ❤️

What a busy few weeks we've been having in Nursery! 🌟

Our Transport topic has been such a hit with the children that we've decided to keep the adventure going... all the way to the seaside! 🚗✈️🚤🏖️

We've been developing our cutting skills by creating runways for our aeroplanes, making our very own passports, writing and sending postcards, and learning all about different types of transport by sorting them into land, sea and air.

Our learning has taken us to the beach too! We've transformed our big steps into a seaside adventure, rescued frozen sea creatures, enjoyed a foam ice cream pop-up shop, decorated delicious seaside biscuits, and so much more. 🌊🍦🦀

We've also had the pleasure of celebrating two of our little ones' birthdays – happy birthday! 🎉🥳

Oh... and we nearly forgot to mention our brand new plastic mud kitchen... safe to say the children are absolutely obsessed with it! 👏💚
The children (and staff!) are having so much fun with this topic, and we're excited to keep the seaside adventures going right through to the end of August! ☀️

Our little ones had a wonderful time visiting the library! 📚

They enjoyed exploring the books, sharing conversations, and listening to a lovely story read by Helen the librarian. 👩🏼‍🏫

To finish off the visit, the children got creative and completed a fantastic minibeast craft activity. 🐞🦟

It was a fun filled morning of learning, imagination, and creativity! 👏🥰👏

🐞🕷️🦋M I N I B E A S T S ! 🐞🕷️🦋

We have explored a range of different minibeasts including spiders, ladybirds, ants and beetles. 🐞🐛🐜

The children have been busy using their maths skills to count how many legs a spider needs, using playdough to create their own spiders.
They also added spots to ladybirds using paint and talked about symmetry while creating beautiful butterflies.🕷️

Everyone has been fully engrossed in the topic, and it has been such a great start to the year for our new children. 👏

Our new little ones are beginning to settle in so well too. 🥰

We have lots more exciting learning planned for this topic and we can’t wait to continue exploring together! ✨

Life lately at A Step Above 🌍✨

We’ve just wrapped up our “All Around the World” topic, and what a journey it’s been!
The children have created some truly amazing work along the way.
From exploring recycling and learning about animals across the globe, to decorating world themed biscuits and discovering sea creatures (and how to protect them), it’s been full of creativity and curiosity. 🐟🌊

We even got crafty making our own Easter bonnets using recycled materials — such a fun and imaginative activity! ♻️🐣

We’re also so excited to have welcomed four new children into our A Step Above family 💛
Now we’re starting our brand-new topic: Growing 🌱

We’ll be exploring all the wonderful things that grow from flowers and vegetables to ourselves and learning what we all need to grow happy and healthy. 💦

And to top it all off, we’re delighted to have a new member of staff joining our team too! 🙋🏼‍♀️
