A special day today where some of our pupils took part in the

Today (Thursday 22 June) a special plaque was unveiled at Tilbury Town Station to mark the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush.

The commemorative plaque was a joint community project between the council, Thurrock BME and c2c Rail and was unveiled by Cllr Qaisar Abbas, Deputy Mayor of Thurrock, Tunde Ojetola, Thurrock BME Group Director, Deputy Lieutenant of Essex Sidra Naeem, c2c's Customer Experience Director Abu Siddeeq, Jackie Doyle-Price MP and the Deputy Mayor of Basildon, Yetunde Adeshile.

A number of special guests attended including The Gateway Learning Community who sang specially commissioned song ‘Tilbury is the Place for Me.’ The song was written by children of the trust in partnership with Thurrock-based arts organisation, Kinetika as part of its T100 Festival.

Reminder of LPA Nursery Open Day this Thursday. Spaces available for a September start!

Do you have a child due to start nursery soon? Children can start at LPA nursery a term after their 3rd Birthday. We have spaces available for a September start!

Come along to our nursery Open Day on Thursday 23rd June at 10.00am to find out more and see the learning environment for yourself.
