The Hedgehogs had amazing day at Southwold Beach today!! The sun had it's hat on and we made the most of it!! 🌞
The children had loads of fun playing on the beach, making sandcastles and paddling in the sea- which was so refreshing!!
We had a lovely picnic lunch together, followed by more paddling and then a delicious ice cream, before heading back to school. It was such a beautiful way to celebrate the incredible year we have had together in Reception and Year 1.

Thurlton school have had a fabulous music day today with many fun musical activities, including ukulele lessons, steel drumming, art with music and making their own musical instruments. As well as this, they had a rhythm and song workshop, learning to jump in time to Billie Jean, by Michael Jackson, and sing songs from different genres, including gospel.
Both the ukulele teachers and steel drum teacher commented on how well behaved and engaged the children were and how supportive the TAs were in the sessions.

Last Term Badger Class entered the Norfolk Churches Trust competition which invited children to draw, paint and capture their local church. We spent our art lessons sketching and painting Thurlton Church.

We are delighted to announce, that out of a whopping 2,500 entries, Isla came 2nd! Prize-winners in each category receive significant awards in art equipment — £250 for the school and £75 for the artist in second place. Yesterday, Isla attended a prestigious awards ceremony at Norwich Cathedral and met Dame Emma Bridgewater!

Additionally, another three pupils from Badger Class have their work displayed in the exhibition at the Crypt Gallery, Norwich School. This is one of the largest celebrations of children's art ever staged in Norfolk. This exhibition is open 10am-4pm today and 10am-3pm on Saturday.

We are so proud of every pupil from Badger Class who sent in an entry. All of the artwork demonstrates remarkable imagination, observation and creativity.

YR6 Pupils visited Beccles and District Museum this morning. A Victorian School teacher met them at the door and gave them a Victorian School experience - hand inspections, strict seating arrangements and chalk to write with! YR6 are now in the process of creating a fact file about Victorian Schools using all the information they have gathered about Victorian education and classrooms.
