Grace Dieu Day Nursery is now open for children aged 12 weeks to 4 Years! By opening our Nursery, Grace Dieu Manor School can now offer families a seamless transition of care and education for pupils from the age of 12 weeks up to 11 years. The Nursery offers superb care within our extensive rural setting in Leicestershire. Children are surrounded by nature and have access to all the exceptional f

acilities of Grace Dieu Preparatory School (including all on-site sports facilities and Forest School). It is a safe and homely setting with highly trained and experienced staff. We are open all year (50 weeks) from 7.30am-6pm for both full and part-time sessions. Parents can opt to use their 15 hours FEEE Government Funding and Childcare Vouchers. The Nursery is led and managed by Mrs Dexter, an outstanding Early Years and Foundation Stage Practitioner who has managed Grace Dieu Pre-Preparatory Department for many years. Grace Dieu Manor School & Nursery is sad to say that after an amazing journey educating pupils for 87 years, it will close its doors for the very last time on 3rd July 2020. We would like to wish our past and present community of pupils, parents and staff all the very best for the future.

Our Acorns have been been learning all about the Gruffalo, we made maps to hunt for the Gruffalo using tea and coffee to stain them and then drew areas of the school that the Gruffalo may be hiding in. We then made a big Gruffalo to hide in the woods and will be going to find him next week!

The Acorns room have been talking about emotions, we created our own faces with clay at Forest school and then we moved on to paint faces and different emotions onto bread using pipette droppers and icing sugar mixed with milk. Throughout, the children have been talking about how it is okay to be happy or sad and the difference between emotions.

We talked about 'over' and 'under' in one of our Forest School sessions. The children used an over grown walk way to go over and then went under leaves and branches; they problem solved how to get over and helped each other to get over bigger branches. Good work!
