💡🚀 Year 4 Enterprise Challenge 🚀💡

Over the last two terms, our Year 4 children took part in a Brooke Weston Trust enterprise project, as part of their 50 Before Year 7 experiences. Their challenge was to design an invention that could improve people’s lives through creativity and innovation.

Our winning invention, The Crawler 3000, was a specially designed wheelchair with innovative axles and cogs to help users tackle stairs, hills and kerbs with ease. It was also fully customisable, allowing users to express their own personality. ♿✨

Last Thursday, our team joined the other winning teams from across the Trust primary schools at the Primary Training Hub for a morning of fun challenges, where Thrapston won Best Spaghetti Tower, before presenting their invention to a panel of judges.

Although we didn’t win overall, we were delighted to receive the ‘Best Prototype’ award. We are so proud of how brilliantly our children represented Thrapston Primary School. Well done, everyone! 👏💙

A huge thank you to all of our Year 4 children who took part in the Brooke Weston Trust Nature Photography Competition. We loved seeing the wonderful photographs showcasing the beauty of nature and are so proud of everyone who entered.

A special congratulations goes to Abi from Legend Class, whose stunning photograph of a tree was chosen as Thrapston Primary School’s winning entry! 🍃🏆

Well done, Abi – it’s a beautiful photograph and a very well-deserved achievement! 👏💚

🌿🐝 The other week at Forest School, we shared the wonderful story ‘The Bumblebear’ which the children absolutely loved! It sparked some lovely conversations about bees, why they're so important to our ecosystem, and just how much they depend on flowers.

Inspired by our buzzing friends, we created beautiful flower crowns, building on the weaving skills we practised last week using twine. 🌸👑

With the recent hot, dry weather, we also talked about why our mud kitchen was using dry materials only this week. We're carefully preserving the water in our water butts so we can keep watering our young trees and helping them thrive. The children took great pride in watering the trees and topping up our new bird feeder too. 💚

It's so lovely to see the children developing a real sense of responsibility and care for our Forest School site. These small acts of kindness towards nature are helping to nurture lifelong environmental stewards. 🌳✨

What a fantastic Summer Celebration! ☀️🎉

We are so proud of all of our children for their amazing performances. You were all incredible! 🎵⭐

A huge thank you to Mr Crook-Chambers for all of the time and effort you put into planning and coordinating the event.

Another special thank you goes to our fantastic site team, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes with all the heavy lifting, setting up tables and stages and so much more. Your hard work is truly appreciated.

Thank you to all of our wonderful staff for your enthusiasm, support and hard work throughout the day - we couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re also incredibly grateful to all of the external companies who joined us and helped make the day so special.

And finally, thank you to all of our parents, carers and children for coming along and making the day such an enjoyable one. Your support means so much to us.

We had an amazing day, and we were certainly lucky with the beautiful weather too! 🌞❤️
