Muddy hands, busy minds and big imaginations today at Mini Buddies!
From building, balancing and problem-solving with tyres and crates, to digging, pouring and exploring in the wet sand, the children have been learning through real hands-on play.
These moments may look messy, but they are full of teamwork, creativity, communication and joy π

π Circle Time β Feelings Faces π
The children had lots of fun pulling different faces to show feelings like happy π, sad π’, surprised π² and angry π .
We talked about what might make us feel each emotion and how we can recognise feelings in ourselves and others. A simple, playful way to support emotional understanding and self-awareness π

Spring has truly come alive at Mini Buddies π±
Our environment has been buzzing with curiosity as the children dive into a world of child-led learning. From exploring root vegetables and engaging in large-scale painting, to creating with open-ended pipe constructions and experimenting with water play β every moment has been driven by their ideas, interests, and imaginations.
Weβve been seeing schemas in action everywhere, with children deeply involved in transporting, connecting, and transforming as they play and learn. These rich experiences are only possible because we prioritise long, uninterrupted periods of play, giving children the time and space to truly explore.
One of the most special parts of our days is watching our older children naturally support and guide our youngest β building confidence, nurturing independence, and strengthening those beautiful relationships across the setting.
Itβs joyful, itβs messy, itβs meaningfulβ¦ and itβs exactly how we believe children learn best π
