Exploring Our Local Community!
Our children have been very busy this week getting out and about and exploring some of the wonderful places in our local community!

🚓 We visited the police station and learned a little more about the important job our police officers do.

🚉 We took a trip to the train station, where the children loved watching the trains come and go.

🛶 We enjoyed a lovely walk along the canal, spotting the canal boats and talking about what we could see along the way.

🦆 And of course, we made time for a trip to the park to feed the ducks – always a favourite!

These little adventures are such a wonderful way for our children to learn about the world around them, build their confidence and feel connected to their local community. 🥰

We had a fantastic time visiting our local field for a morning full of outdoor fun! The children enjoyed having a go at rounders, bat and ball, football and lots of throwing games. There was plenty of running, kicking, throwing, catching and, most importantly, lots of smiles! 😊

We have had a fantastic morning at enjoying ice-creams and sorbet! The children all picked their own ice cream and enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine 🌞 the staff enjoyed their ice-creams too!

We have all had a brilliant time at the park this morning! We played in the park, saw the baby ducks, played games and enjoyed a picnic! 🌳

This week the Tree and Sky room had a fun filled morning doing a Little Movers Class with Caroline. They showed off their dance moves, played games such as collecting sea shells and animals and practising their fine motor skills by passing the beach balls to each other and jumping up when the music stopped. At the end of the session the children enjoyed dancing and popping the bubbles ⛱️🫧

We have started our summer with some trips out into the community! Tree room visited the canal and the delves to feed the ducks and Nest room visited the canal and the park to do the same! The children loved seeing the canal boats and were waving at them all!

We have had a busy week over our last few days of the term. The 2's have been doing the 'Shark in the park' book for their key text and were learning how to use a telescope, they also enjoyed a shark rice play tray. The babies have been doing under the sea and exploring lots of different play trays and playing with the sea animals.

We have had a very busy and fun term before we break up for summer and want to wish all of our term-time only families a brilliant summer and we will see you in September! For our full year families we have lots of exciting plans for the summer holidays so watch this space!

Graduation 2026 🎓
Today, we are so proud to celebrate our wonderful graduates as they prepare for their next big adventure. Watching each child grow from tiny babies into confident and independent little learners has been an absolute privilege.

To all of our amazing children – we couldn't be prouder of everything you have accomplished. You have filled our nursery with laughter, friendship and unforgettable memories, and each one of you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

🌟 We are absolutely delighted to share the outcome of our very first Ofsted inspection at Fledglings Thorne! 🌟

Our nursery was recognised as delivering a Strong Standard across almost every area inspected, with safeguarding fully meeting all statutory requirements. This is a fantastic achievement for a nursery that has only been open for just over two years. ❤️

The inspector recognised the warm, nurturing environment our team has worked so hard to create, saying:

💬 "Children thrive in this warm, welcoming and nurturing setting."

We were particularly proud that Ofsted highlighted our inclusive approach and the progress children make, noting:

💬 "Children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities... make impressive progress from their starting points."

The report also praised the strong relationships between our staff, children and families, our commitment to children's emotional wellbeing, and our leadership team's drive for continuous improvement.

A huge thank you to our incredible team, our wonderful children who make every day so special, and our supportive families who place their trust in us. We couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved together.
