St Patrick's Catholic College

St Patrick's Catholic College Faith · Family · Future There are presently 501 boys and girls studying in the school. We are a specialist Maths and Computing College.

St Patrick’s is a voluntary aided 11-16 mixed comprehensive school providing high-quality Catholic education for the children of Thornaby, a township within the borough of Stockton-on-Tees. St Patrick’s is well regarded in the community it serves. We have a reputation for securing high standards of behaviour from our students and our care and development of the children makes us a popular choice f

or parents. Academic standards are high and our results in public examinations exceed national averages. St Patrick’s has a very strong tradition of excellence in sport and outdoor education. Students participate in football, rugby, cricket, netball, cross-country, volleyball, badminton, basketball, walking and orienteering. Music is strong with opportunities for students to learn an instrument, play in the school orchestra and sing in the choir. An annual school production develops the students’ creative talents and provides the opportunity to perform. We are a community of faith as well as a school and the spiritual life of St Patrick’s is of prime importance. Staff and students have regular opportunities to pray together and the liturgies of the Church are routinely celebrated. Students are encouraged to deepen their relationship with God and to respond to what He is calling them to. The students of St Patrick’s are very sensitive to the needs of others and respond with great generosity to those in need.

☘️🚸CROSS! CROSS! THE CROSSING!🚸☘️

Who needs Abbey Road when you have Baysdale Road?

We just had to share this fab picture of our PEO’s (minus Mr Hopson - he was with Year 11 for P6) with their own take of The Beatles cover!

We would like to remind all parents and carers about the new crossing near school and encourage all of our pupils to use it whenever crossing the road.

The crossing has been introduced by our local council to help keep our community safe, so please support us by reminding your young people to always use the designated crossing and follow the crossing instructions carefully.

We also ask parents and carers to take extra care when driving, parking or walking near the school, particularly at busy drop-off and collection times. Please be mindful of our pupils and allow them plenty of space and time to cross safely.

Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.🚗❤️

✝️🙏🏼SUNDAY’S GOSPEL🙏🏼✝️

Today’s Gospel invites us to reflect on reconciliation and the way our actions and words affect those around us.

Reconciliation begins with listening, not just hearing, but genuinely trying to understand others with patience and compassion. We are encouraged to look honestly at our own behaviour and ask whether we are building peace or creating division. Even when difficult conversations are necessary, we can approach them with love, respect and a desire to heal. By listening, forgiving and taking responsibility for our actions, we can help create relationships and communities where everyone feels valued, heard and welcomed.

☘️🙏🏼St Mother Teresa 🙏🏼☘️

Today is St Mother Teresa’s Feast Day.

St. Mother Teresa is a powerful example of the transformative impact that one person’s kindness and generosity can have on the world.

Inspired by St Teresa we are living in kindness and generosity here at school, here’s some wonderful examples that Mrs Jackson has put together to show ways our pupils are true demonstrations of kindness.

If you’re part of Teresa House you’re in for a treat next week!

A big shout out to the following Year 8 and 9 pupils who have made a really strong start in their RE lessons this week. Their confidence has grown a lot in speaking out and explaining their points of view accurately.

Year 11 have also made a good impression with learning new content and applying this effectively to exam questions.
