What an absolutely amazing effort by all the children and adults! They’re all brilliant! I don’t envy Robin’s job of judging the best out of all of these!

FoSS are holding their annual Pumpkin Carving Competition on Thursday 26th October. Entry is £2 per pumpkin, which will go towards updating our EYFS outdoor playpits and Forest School area.
There is a category for adults as well as children so everyone please feel free to get involved!
This years judge is Robin the hearing dog lady.
A big thank you to Mrs Spilman and Spilman’s Farm for allowing Bylands and Fountains to go pumpkin picking yesterday. The children had an amazing time!

A massive thank you to everyone for your generous donations towards our Harvest Festival! Community Works will be overwhelmed with all your kindness
It’s our Harvest Festival tomorrow, with the Harvest Festival Service being held in St. Cuthbert’s Church at 2.30pm. We ask that all children bring in a food donation tomorrow to support our local food bank, Community Works.

What an absolutely amazing effort from pupils and parents today! Over £100 raised and that was just from the donations this morning! I’ll post a final total Monday once the money from the cake sales have been counted
Please don't forget that it's the MacMillan Coffee Morning here tomorrow! Please support us by baking and sending in £1 suggested donation. All children will receive a cake at playtime and any extra cakes will be sold at pick up. It's a non-uniform day so please try and wear something green!

Donation envelope will be sent home with your child on Thursday 28th September to bring into school on Friday 29thSeptember.
It will be a non-uniform day where children can ‘Wear something Green for Macmillan’.
We are requesting that parents bake and send in buns for the children to enjoy at breaktime - so that they feel a part of the ‘big coffee morning’ event.
Any additional buns and cakes will be sold at pick up time.

Victorian Day in Fountains Class
The pupils in Fountain are having a taste of what it was like for children in school during Victorian times. Mrs Sowray, Mrs Price & Mrs Bentley are all looking extremely serious.
They found writing with chalk much harder than by pencil and very difficult if you are left handed!

Fountains Class (Years 2 & 3) have been studying the life and work of L S Lowry and created some amazing collages in his style. Well done Fountains, they look really great.
Sessay Songbirds Summer Concert took place this week in Sessay Village Hall. The audience were serenaded to by the the Songbirds who were conducted by Mrs Pollard and Mrs Day, as well as Mrs Price who conducted members of Thirsk Silver Band.
Our Year 5/6 Cricket Team who played fabulously well yesterday, showing great skills and sportsmanship. Very proud of them.
