Thetford Music Project In addition, members can enjoy making music together in one of our ensembles, such as Ukulele , String group or our Singing Group.

Thetford Music Project (TMP) is an after-school activity that offers children living in and around Thetford the opportunity to learn an instrument or sing and perform with others. Thetford Music Project (TMP) is an after-school activity that offers children living in and around Thetford the opportunity to learn to play a wide range of musical instruments, voice training is available and much more.

We run:
Every Monday in term time, from 3pm – 7pm
Venue: The Thetford Academy, Croxton Rd, Thetford, IP24 1LH
Ages: 6yrs to 18yrs
Cost: Range from £2 to £8 per 30 minute session (we also have some FREE places)

TMP members regularly perform in concerts at our host venue, The Thetford Academy, or locally at the Carnegie Rooms in Thetford. The Project was founded in 1999 as a charity and it is largely due to our generous sponsors that we are able to offer these musical opportunities at a considerably low rate. The reason for our 20 years success rate is due to our dedicated trustees, tutors, parents, children and the support of our sponsors including Norfolk Music Hub (https://www.norfolkmusichub.org.uk/site/)

Well what an amazing few days we have had on our annual residential. Musicians from Norfolk and Suffolk came to Wymondham College for three days to play together as part of our orchestra and rock band.

Some amazing music was rehearsed and performed and a lot of fun was had by so many. Huge shout out to all the adults who continue to support the TMP and put these events together. If this is somehting you would be interested in being a part of in 2027 then keep your eyes out for posts with more information about next year's event.

Did you know that our annual Residential at Wymondham College is fast approaching. Thursday 30th July to Saturday 1st August. If you are an adult or child wishing to partake in some wonderful ensemble playing at a lovely location then do drop us a line and we can get forms over to you.

If you play a woodwind, string, brass or percussion instrument for the orchestra. Or play Bass, Acoustic, Electric guitar, drums, keyboard for the rock band. Then this residential is for you.
