I am incredibly proud (again) of the TGS students. Our Year 11s not only had to contend with sitting their examinations, but also in finding a new school due to our closure.

I am pleased to say that we have had a 92% ‘good’ pass rate across all subjects with 96% of all students passing both Maths and English.

14 subjects gained 100% pass rates (4-9) spreading across all three Sciences (and Combined Science) , English Lit, three out of our five languages, Music, Art, RS and DT.

A big 'Well Done' to Aile who gained a 9 in every one of her exams!

Congratulations to all our Year 11s - you have done incredibly well despite the circumstances, and I wish you all good luck in your next educational ventures.

I am delighted with this year’s A level results! 🎉

Our students have worked incredibly hard, despite the announcement of the school’s closure, there have been some super results.

A huge congratulations to our top scorers, Gabe with A*AAA and Bertie with A*AA. 👏

🌾🐷 A Wonderful Day at Hollow Trees Farm! 🐑🚜

Last Friday, our Pre-Prep pupils enjoyed a fantastic all expenses paid trip to Hollow Trees Farm in Semer, generously gifted by Friends of Thetford Grammar School.

Their wish was for some of the money raised through fundraising to be spent creating special memories for the children as they prepare to move on to their new settings.

From the moment we arrived, the farm staff were absolutely brilliant and made us feel so welcome. The children took part in a range of hands-on activities, including planting their own mini fields, learning about the different parts of a combine harvester, watering crops, and meeting and feeding the farm animals.

After enjoying a delicious pig-shaped shortbread biscuit and a drink, we set off to explore more of the farm and, of course, couldn’t resist trying out the magnificent play equipment! To top off a truly memorable day, every child enjoyed an ice cream before heading home.

A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff at Hollow Trees Farm for such an enjoyable experience, and an especially big thank you to FoTGS for making this special day possible. 💚

Well done to Year 7 student Felicia, who proudly represented TGS at the Norfolk Schools Athletics Championships on Saturday.

Felicia achieved an outstanding double victory, finishing 1st in the Year 7 Girls’ 100m with a time of 14 seconds and also taking 1st place in the long jump with a fantastic jump of 3.84m.

The children loved getting creative, making crowns and animal ears — and were so proud they wore them all the way back to school and for the rest of the day too! 👑
