Last day of primary school for Year 6 ❤️

They raised over £400 with their ‘Summer Spectacular’ event so a day of celebrations was very well deserved!

A fantastic day for a fantastic group of young people who are ready for the next step in their education. We wish them all the very best and thank them for their amazing contributions to Norwich Road Academy! 🌟

🎶🪘 Drumming workshops 🪘🎶

Thank you to the Wooden Roots team for their recent workshops The sessions were fantastic! Not only did we learn about the construction of the djembe drums, but the uses of them, the history of them and where they come from too! 🌍

The children worked as a group and had a great time. They learned simple beats, along with two-part rhythms! ❤️️🎶🪘

As part of their leavers celebrations tomorrow, an ice cream van will be serving the Year 6 pupils in the afternoon. They hosted their second fundraising event today, the ‘Summer Spectacular’ and it is through events like these we are able to fund this for them as an end of primary school treat!

Jim’s South Norfolk Ice Cream will be staying after school to serve our school community. If you would like to purchase an ice cream at the end of the day, pop over to the KS2 playground 🍦🍭☀️😎

Our Eastern Multi-Academy Trust CEO, Mr Paul Shanks, visited us this week. He brought with him an accurate copy of the World Cup and all of the children had the opportunity to have a close up look and appreciate the detail. 🤩

Whilst the England football team may not have reached the final, we are all VERY proud of them. They worked hard, supported each other and did their best - not giving up until the game was finished. This reflects the values of our school. 💪❤️️

❤️️ 🐛 The Very Hungry Caterpillar' 🐛❤️️

Here are our Nursery children enjoying their learning about 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'! He ate his way through lots of different food, got very fat, turned into a cocoon.... and emerged a beautiful butterfly! 🤩
🐛🍎🍐🍊🍓🍰🍉🥧🍦🍭🥬️🦋

The children explored the butterfly life cycle and carefully observed the changes. They looked after their own caterpillars and waited for them to build their cocoons. They also made their own caterpillars, cocoons and butterflies using various materials. 🎨🖌

They also practised learning to retell 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' story and created a story map. 📃
