This week in Clever Crocodiles the children created their own sensory bottles. The children discussed different colours, shapes and textures they were using to make their sensory bottles. The children practiced using their fine and gross motor skills by pouring water and tipping in a variety of resources that they selected. 😊💦🫟

This week in Forest School, we have been learning all about apples! Lucy showed us how apples grow from tiny seeds into saplings and eventually become apple trees, just like the one in our wild garden.🌳

We explored the different colours, shapes and features we could see on the apples. The children enjoyed taking part in lots of exciting activities, including apple printing, making bird food, water play and going on a bug hunt. It has been a fun filled day of exploring, learning and discovering!🍎🍏

This week at Theale the Dragonfly children have shown an interest in the Police after seeing a police car drive past the nursery. The Dragonfly team extended the children's learning by creating their very own role play crime scene! The children had lots of fun being investigators for the day and worked together to solve the case 🔍🚓👮

Today at Forest School the children have not only been learning about blackberry plants and safety but also engaged their senses and creativity through hands-on experiences. They used hammers to crush the blackberries for paint and enjoyed making marks on their flags which was a great way to combine nature exploration with art. Lucy’s blackberry playdough added extra sensory learning opportunities, encouraging the children to use descriptive language, which supported both their communication skills and sensory awareness.🎨🖌️🔨

Today in Clever Crocodiles the children enjoyed picking different herbs in the garden as they explored their senses by smelling the different plants and touching them. The children then went inside and did some leaf rubbing, talking about the differences in their leaves, colour and counting how many they had collected. 🌱🌿

This week Little Lions have had fun being outside in the garden. The children have enjoyed exploring with their senses with wet sand, mark making with the chalk and looking at stories. 🌞

Whilst Phill is enjoying his holiday the children have been helping out with the maintenance at Tigers. This includes watering the flowers, sweeping the leaves and watering the vegetable patch. Our pumpkins are already getting big ready for Halloween 🌻🧹🍃
