Pupils from Downe House and Harrow recently met to work on the academic projects which they will ultimately present to their parents and teachers at a colloquium in November.

Having been set a diverse range of thought-provoking research questions on this year's theme, Maps, the Year 10 Scholars will work with their academic mentors throughout the term before sharing their discoveries in a series of presentations.

The Downe House girls and Harrow boys have made an impressive start on their interdisciplinary exploration, and are enjoying the opportunity to collaborate.

It was a privilege to welcome award-winning author Tasneem Abdur-Rashid to Downe House. Speaking to our Upper Four pupils, Tasneem explored her career as a writer, the inspiration behind her ideas and her latest novel, Odd Girl Out, which has received widespread acclaim and award nominations 🌟

Thank you for such an engaging and inspiring session. Your reflections on identity, friendship, family and belonging sparked thoughtful conversations and encouraged many of our pupils to continue to pursue their own creative writing journeys! 📚

We are absolutely delighted and very proud to share the news that Downe House has been named 'BEST PUBLIC SCHOOL IN THE UK' in the prestigious 2027 Tatler Schools Awards.

Thank you to Tatler Schools Guide for this fabulous recognition, and thank you also to our whole school community - staff, parents and most of all our brilliant girls - for all that you contribute to make Downe House a very special place to be a part of.

Joining together for charity, Downe House girls and Eton boys brought style, sophistication and swagger to the catwalk at the Downe House Fashion Show.

The event raised £65,000+ for Kenya-based marine conservation charity Oceans Alive and the DH Annual Fund. The committee of girls who organised the event and all those who took part can be hugely proud of this achievement.

Our thanks go to the talented former Downe House pupil Lara Arnott of Arnott and Arnott Photography for capturing the show so brilliantly, to Camilla Ridley-Day at Teen Edit for who brought her expertise to the show as Creative Director, and to all the parents and staff who supported the event.

Another fantastic Make a Difference Day! ✨

From welcoming hundreds of local primary school pupils for a day of educational activities to supporting charities and community projects across the local area, the day was full of learning, teamwork and service.

Thank you to everyone who took part. It was a wonderful day for all involved, with pupils embracing the opportunity to connect with others, support worthy causes and give back to the local community. We are incredibly proud! 💚
