Our families sent in holiday pictures from their adventures…. Farm trips, waterfalls, unicorn playdough, treasures from nature walks… We then used these pictures to enhance our play and learning conversations. Our children are so engaged, animated and excited to see pictures that have such meaning and share them with their friends!

Our wonderful outside space, a new hand washing station ensuring we always focus on good hygiene, babies busy board in our newly revamped room, our real life dressing up, a little picture of the hens, a little station in our staff room and a sneak into our August focus areas to support planning and interests. So many wonderul things happening here at Ivy House! We really are growing in strength week by week. We are exited to share our Pre-School updates soon as September edges closer! Our curriculum is looking strong and exciting!

A few little moments! Our self care station. We are focusing on hand washing, putting our tissues into the bin and looking after ourselves. Our book corner where we rotate books and items of interest to encourage story time, looking at print and text and enjoying reading together, our home corner table adding varied resources from every day life, and our lovely ladies who are happy laying lots of eggs! We continue to build upon our strengths here at Ivy House. Always reflecting, focusing on children as individuals, looking at how we can strengthen our curriculum. We’ve had a very positive year so far, and that is certainly not stopping! Regular Safeguarding conversations to refresh knowledge, adapting planning, building strong relationships and more!

Thank you! We’ve had some lovely reviews lately and as always we continue to work hard, build upon our environments, create the best team and ensure our children flourish. We are excited to launch our new Pre-School plans for September! Watch this space!

We have been enjoying some real hands on Maths…. Exploring liquid mass. We had a race to see who could fill their bucket up to the top first! It all got very exciting, we used some fabulous language and also had fun at the same time. We know we learn best when we are enjoying our play and show high levels of engagement. A new favourite for us to try again soon! We focus on ensuring Maths is weaved throughout our daily curriculum.

We are in the process of ensuring our baby space has a little refresh! We love our new ‘Overtly Olive’ walls, the new panels which allow lots of sensory items to be attached, along with new resources which help keep our youngest children motivated and engaged which in turn inspires their imagine and supports their learning. We are introducing a new family wall which we can’t wait for you to see! We are adding some real plants in and maybe even dome herbs (play dough and herbs are a favourite!)

We do love the farm coming to visit us. We enjoy helping to care for the animals, understanding why this is important, helping to groom and feed them, along with hand washing and keeping safe too. We all had such a wonderful day and we hope all of the animals had a lovely adventure with us here at Ivy House! Thank you!!

There are learning opportunities in everything that we do. For example this sensory oats activity. We are always developing our play, building upon next steps and ensuring are children are learning in a happy, safe and engaging environment. We are always here if you have any questions 🌻
