🎶 Eldersfield Lawn Primary School– French with Aurore 🇫🇷✨

So proud to share this sweet video of our Reception–Year 3 superstars performing our French song of the week, “La pluie” ☔💧
They LOVED singing and acting out all the gestures!💙

In our after-school French club, we explore the language through:
📚 histoires (stories)
🎲 jeux (games)
🎶 chansons (songs)
🖍️ creative activities inspired by the award-winning La Jolie Ronde programme

The children pick up French naturally through play, movement and lots of fun! Building confidence, curiosity and a genuine love for learning! 🌟

This week’s rainy-day rhyme was:
“Tu aimes la pluie ?
Moi oui, oui, oui !
Je prends mon petit parapluie,
Je mets mes bottes et mon chapeau,
Je danse et je saute dans les flaques d’eau !”

Their enthusiasm is amazing every week. So proud of them! 🌈😊

✨ Wonderful work from my Year 5 and Year 6 La Jolie Ronde class (“Bonjour la France”)! ✨

This week, we did a listening comprehension activity where the Twyning School's pupils had to draw exactly what they heard. I absolutely loved the diversity in their drawings — every single one was different! They all took the activity very seriously and stayed really focused. 🎨🖍️

We’re also working on the structure “C’est un/une…” and answering “Oui, c’est…” / “Non, ce n’est pas…”, revising all our recent vocabulary. The class is making great progress and growing in confidence. 🇫🇷✨

And of course… they always love the La Jolie Ronde songs! Their favourite at the moment is “Nord, Sud, Est, Ouest” — they ask to sing it every lesson! 🎶🧭

So proud of them! 👏💙

✨ In our La Jolie Ronde classes (“Salut Céline et Antoine”), we’ve had such a fun week! ✨

We’ve been singing, playing games, and learning French together.
My Year 3 and Year 4 pupils Twyning School created beautiful drawings — a beach, a forest, or combining both! 🌳🏖️

We also practised our alphabet, sang it loudly, and played games like Hangman and “Spell the Word – I Guess It!”.
They are doing an amazing job and learning so fast. Bravo, everyone! 👏🇫🇷

Delighted to be featured in Tewkesbury Direct this month!
At the start of term, I hosted a French Tea Party – to celebrate some of my pupils special achievement and the joy of learning together. 🇫🇷🍰☕🥐

When I think of the pupils who started with me in preschool and whom I’ve seen every week during term time for years—right up to their GCSEs, like Amélie this year—I feel so lucky. 💕

Working with La Jolie Ronde gives me the privilege of accompanying children from such a young age through to their teenage years, watching them grow and flourish.

It’s a truly special journey that often feels like we become one big extended family. 🌟

✨ Back to School & Already Celebrating! ✨
We’re so happy to welcome back our wonderful pupils—both new and returning—after the summer at Bonjour Little People! Not only are we starting a brand-new term, but we’ve also been celebrating some amazing achievements.

🎉 To mark the occasion, we held a fabulous French-style tea party! ☕🥐 Featuring pain au chocolat, croissants, French butter biscuits, and baguette with jams "Tartines"… délicieux!

🌟 Amélie’s Journey
Amélie began her French journey with us back in playgroup! Starting so young gave her a strong foundation, and over ten years she completed the entire La Jolie Ronde programme—seven books in total. With that dedication, she sat her French GCSE two years early in Year 9 and achieved a perfect 9! 👏

🌟 Recognition also goes to:
• Eliza (Year 9) – joining Amélie online in our new bilingual class, diving deep into grammar, reading, writing & speaking.
• Rémi – who not only organised a French penpal exchange in the Alps and returned full of new language skills but also continued learning with passion. This year, we are proud to announce that Rémi achieved a 9 in his French GCSE!
• Léa (Year 5) – showing steady commitment in her weekly school lessons and making excellent progress.
• Elena (Year 8) – embracing online learning and making new friends from across the UK.

Aurore says, “I am so proud of every one of my pupils—whether beginners or bilingual, each child’s dedication, curiosity, and progress make teaching them an absolute joy! At Bonjour Little People, every child’s progress is celebrated—success and fun always go hand in hand!"
