We are a community run Pre-School located in Mitton, Tewkesbury.

We offer a safe welcoming environment where children can learn through play and have recently moved into a purpose built building which offers an excellent venue for our children.

Today marks a year that we said goodbye to our wonderful Mrs Walker.

Not a day has passed since, that we’ve not thought or spoken about her.

We hope that she will be looking down on us and will be happy with how we continue to support her little friends and how the preschool and the community remains our priority.

We continue to be grateful for all that she provided to the preschool and families over the years.

We are thinking of her family today and always.

Mitton Manor Pre-School - Level 3 Play Practitioner

Due to an increased demand for places, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Play Practitioner with a Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualification to join our pre-school team.

The role will commence in June 2024 and will be for approximately 40 hours per week, term-time only, with the possibility of additional flexible hours if required. Rate of pay is £12.50 per hour, with half pay in the school holidays. Candidates who are invited for interview will also be invited to a stay and play session.

We are looking for;

• Someone with a recognised Level 3 childcare qualification

• Experience of working in an early years environment

• A good knowledge of the EYFS

• A person who enjoys supporting and understands the importance of children’s learning and development through a variety of play-based activities.

• You will be able to provide a fun, stimulating and safe environment for a child to learn and grow

Certificates in child protection and first aid will be required, but could be obtained during the probation period if necessary. A clear enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate before they commence the role.

Job responsibilities include:

· Having a group of Key children and taking responsibility for their record keeping

· Carrying out observations, planning and assessments

· Preparing and carrying out activities to challenge and support the children’s learning and development

· Undertaking certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack, meals and cleansing of equipment within in the pre-school

· Ability to communicate effectively within the staff team

· Liaising with and supporting parents/carers

We said a final goodbye to our wonderful Mrs Walker today.
It was a beautiful service, with a packed Abbey, heartfelt words and a twirlers guard of honour.

She would’ve loved that so many people came out to say their goodbyes. It was a wonderful sight to see so many people and so many sporting her favourite colour.

We are forever grateful for everything she did for our preschool and we will continue to make her proud.

Thank you to every single person that has reached out to our staff members. Your love and support has been appreciated and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Life will never be the same again.
She was, Simply the best!

Hi all,

Just a reminder that we have a book of condolence for Mrs Walker in pre-school, for people to sign if they would like to.

If you would rather write your message out at home and bring it in, we can stick it into the book for you.

The book is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 9.00 - 9.30am and 3.30 - 4.00pm - just buzz the gate to come in.

The family of Angela Walker (Angie, Mrs Walker) would like to invite you to attend her funeral service at Tewkesbury Abbey on Monday 18th March 11am.

Following the service there will be a committal at Cheltenham Crematorium for family and close friends.

All are welcome to join the family at Tewkesbury Rugby Club following the service to celebrate Angie’s life. We ask that you bring a photo to display and for the family to keep as a memorial. Please include a message on the back if you wish.

Please wear what you feel comfortable in, if you’d like to wear a bit of mums favourite colour, purple, then please do

No flowers, however donations in Angie’s memory can be made via Alexander Burns (01684 276200) to Mitton Manor Preschool.

The staff and committee of Mitton Manor Pre-School are sad to announce that our Manager, Angela Walker, passed away yesterday. She had been battling cancer for a number of years and died in Tewkesbury Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Angela has been Manager for 35 years, and spent that time dedicated to providing the best care and education for our children, as well as plenty of extras, including concerts, parades and sports days. We know that many people in Tewkesbury will have treasured memories of their children's time at Mitton Manor Pre-School.

All of the staff and committee, both past and present, will miss her terribly, but the legacy of the wonderful pre-school she created will live on and she will never be forgotten.

It’s not too late to join the 100 Club! We only have 70 members this year at the moment.

It costs £12 for the whole year, and there are monthly cash prizes, with amounts ranging from £5 to our top prize of £100 in December.

Thank you to Tewkesbury's BIG Weekend for letting us take part in your wonderful parade.

Our little friends had so much fun dressing up as different nursery rhymes and we all had lots of fun joining them.

Thank you to all our friends and families who shouted encouragement and waved at us, it was great to see so many friendly faces.
