Dzień dobry😍Today in Poland, we celebrate Children's Day🥰 Dzień Dziecka🥳

I cannot imagine a world without children, especially not without my sweet daughter💞

In modern times, we focus so much on children's well-being, but please remember that at the beginning of the 20th century, Polish-Jewish paediatrician Janusz Korczak sacrificed his life to be a children's advocate. He always openly talked about children's needs and how adults should change their behaviour towards them. He ran two orphanages, and he died with his foster children in the Treblinka death camp. He did not abandon them until the end🖤

Dzień dobry🌷 I'd like to share with you some excerpts and photos I received from my student, Susan, who went to Bristol with her sister on Sunday. She surprised me and wrote a report about the trip. This proves that we all need to mix learning with pleasure sometimes.😀

Some people will surely notice that Susan made a few mistakes, but that doesn't matter – because she wasn't afraid to try writing something in Polish. I agree with Ed Sheeran that we learn the most from our failures.❤️ Mistakes are an important part of the learning process; you shouldn't be afraid of them.

What's worth mentioning about Susan is that she started learning Polish from scratch with me at the end of November 2024 (17 months altogether). She visited Poland with her husband; she really fell in love with my country, so she decided to learn Polish to have a reason to go back.
And so she did! Brawo, Susan!👏👏👏

Please remember that the new specification of the GCSE Speaking Exam applies only to French, German and Spanish in 2026. AQA is planning to apply these changes to the Polish Speaking Exam not until 2029.

Have a happy Prima Aprilis Day! :)

Today in we are celebrating the Fools' Day, which we call Prima Aprilis, so don't be surprised if your Polish friends send you a message that they won millions in a lottery or start to date a very famous actor or musician🤣
I think all of my students know that every Easter I spend with my distant cousin, who is Robert Lewandowski - obviously!
