🌼 Spring is in the Air at Little Oaks Nursery! 🌞

The days are getting brighter, and we’re embracing the joys of spring! 🌱☀️ Our little explorers are loving outdoor play in the sunshine, spotting daffodils, and discovering the wonders of nature.

We have been:
🎨 Mixing colours to create beautiful springtime artwork
🔬 Exploring exciting science experiments with water, bubbles, and shaving foam rain! Mixing colour with high-fives! 🖐
🌿 Engaging in sensory play with fresh flowers, soil, and textures
📖 Bringing stories to life with imaginative through shared storytelling!
➕ Looking at and exploring our numbers
⭐️Playing turn taking games like Dominoes!

Every day is an adventure, and we can’t wait to see what new discoveries our curious learners will continue to make! 🌸🐞

Penguin Awareness Day 🐧❄️

What a fantastic fun day we have had at Little Oaks! 🌟

The children really enjoyed learning about:

👀 What they look like 🖤🤍

We finished off our learning with the 'Penguin Song' 🎵🐧 before diving into some messy play penguin fun! 🎨🖐️

🌟 Welcome Back to Little Oaks Nursery! 🌟

We were thrilled to welcome our little adventurers back for another exciting term of exploring, learning and fun! 🎉 This week, we had a fantastic line-up of activities and adventures!

🌳 Exploring the woodland and enjoying a nature sensory walk
⚽🎾 Practicing our ball and bat skills
🎵 Singing, dancing, and listening to beautiful classical music featuring the guitar, violin, and cello
📖 Reading and acting out 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'
🔢 Counting fun through games and hands-on activities with loose parts and practicing our numbers in flour
🪵 Making our very own Stick Man inspired by nature and using the sticks we gathered in woodland

🌟 Stay-and-Play the Christmas way – Lots of great activities and sensory experiences as well as a cheeky mince pie while we sang our Christmas carols!
🍽️ Christmas Dinner Day – Delicious roast and festive crackers!
🎉 Party Day – Fun, laughter, and celebrations to end the term with a bang! Party games and dancing fun! What an awesome group you are Little Oaks!

🌟✨ Blast Off on our Journey to the Stars! 🚀📚

We’ve been soaring into space with our Star Making, Rocket Launching, and Astromouse Book Reading! 🌌👩‍🚀

From creating glittering stars to exploring the galaxies and reading stories about space explorers, our little astronauts have had a galactic adventure full of fun, creativity, and learning. 🌟🚀

What a Space-tacular Week! 🌠✨

🌟✨ What an ‘out-of-this-world’ week we've had at preschool! 🚀✨

We started our week on Monday as we commemorated Remembrance Day with creative Poppy art and participating in the two minutes silence to think about all the people that keep us safe. 🌺❤️
Our space adventure took us on an exciting journey through the stars as we learned all about rockets, planets, and the glittery silver moon! We enjoyed reading ‘Whatever Next?’ and thought about an adventure in a rocket to the moon. The children had so much fun creating their very own rockets and letting their creativity shine, we even had an apple, honey sprinkle picnic just like Baby Bear had on the moon. 🌙🖍️

This week wasn’t just about space—it was also about kindness! We talked about what it means to be kind and caring to our friends, and the children came up with lovely ideas to fill our Kindness Tree. Each thoughtful idea was a reminder of how we can all make our world a better place, one kind act at a time. 🌳❤️ week.

🌿✨ What a fantastic week we've had at Little Oaks! The children loved spending time outdoors while the sun was shining, riding bikes and playing ball! We practiced our big arm moves by painting our fence with the bubbles. We loved going on a Woodland Nature Hunt 🌳🌲, where we gathered treasures like leaves, conkers, feathers and twigs. We then explored them up close with magnifying glasses! 🕵️‍♀️🍂
Inside, we got creative with autumn-themed arts and crafts, painting and sticking to make beautiful pictures (all while practicing our fine motor skills 😉). The children enjoyed gathering and counting colourful leaves and showed the numbers on their fingers! 🍁🍂
We danced our hearts out during movement time and read lots of wonderful autumnal stories. The children got creative and used Play-Dough as "cement" to build imaginative structures in small-world play! 🏗️✨
Such a busy week full of laughter, learning, and creativity! 🎨📚

🍂 Harvest Week Fun at Little Oaks! 🎃
This week at nursery, we have been celebrating all things autumn with our exciting Harvest Week! We have been thinking about farmers and how they are busy harvesting crops at this time of year. Singing lovely songs like ‘Big Red Combine Harvester’, ‘Old MacDonald had a farm’ and ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’🍁 We have gone on conker hunts and leaf walks and enjoyed the sunshine!
We have been getting creative and hands-on with a range of fun activities -
🎨 Pumpkin Painting & Scooping – Exploring textures as we scoop and paint our pumpkins!
🌱 Exploring Seeds & Vegetables – Learning about nature as we discover different seeds and veggies.
🍂 Leaf Sticking – Creating beautiful autumn leaf collages!
🦔 Hedgehog Making – Crafting cute hedgehogs using natural materials.
🖍️ Chalk Painting – Unleashing our creativity with colourful chalk designs.
🏃 Obstacle Courses – Challenging ourselves with fun, physical activities!
👐 Gloop Sensory Play – Getting messy with some squishy, sensory fun!
🥕 Vegetable Printing – Using vegetables to create unique prints and patterns!

The children are loving this seasonal adventure, and we can’t wait to continue exploring Autumn next week. 🍂✨
