Hi everyone. Now that we are back from our holidays, i have a few congratulations to make!

Firstly, a HUGE congratulations to Olivia who has passed her Silver music medal! Olivia scored excellent in her duet performance and her call and response task. In her ensemble, she was praised for her accuracy, tone quality and character. Amazing work Olivia - keep it up!!

Secondly, another HUGE congratulations to Zoe for passing her Copper music medal! Zoe scored excellent in all areas and was praised for her rhythm, accuracy and character. Well done Zoe!

Im so looking forward to getting back to work next week with you talented bunch! See you all next week!

Exciting news: I am pleased to announce that I have qualified as a music medal assessor with ABRSM.

Music Medals are teacher-led assessments for younger learners that introduce essential skills and encourage playing together. They build on what's taught in lessons and enable students to gain recognition for their hard work. They are available for the following levels: copper, bronze, silver, gold and platinum.

Each level required candidates to perform a duet piece, a solo piece and to complete an aural or sight reading test.

Last week, 2 of our wonderful students passed their copper level music medal - a big congratulations to Maxwell and Doga! Both students were assessed as "excellent" in all areas after putting in lots of hard work. Onwards and upwards! Well done to both of you - im so excited to see what you do next.

A huge congratulations to Katie who has passed her Grade 1 with distinction! This is all the more remarkable because Katie has only been learning the piano since January with no prior experience! Katie was praised for her accuracy, pacing, expression, rhythm and technique.

Well done Katie - this is a well deserved and exceptional result.

I really do have the most talented students!

Proud to announce that Lucus has passed ABRSM Grade 3 with Merit! An amazing result - well done Lucus. Lucus was praised for his technique across the board. Cant wait to see what you do next Lucus!

A huge congratulations to Iris who has passed her Grade 7 ABRSM with Merit! Wow - what an achievement! Iris was particularly praised for her rhythm in all of her pieces and also how she captured the mood in various pieces.

Here is Iris playing Schubert's Impromptu in Ab major - one of the pieces we have been exploring since her exam and a firm favourite of mine.

Well done Iris - onwards and upwards!

Congratulations to Freya who has passed her Grade 2 ABRSM! Freya worked hard to achieve this result and was praised for her duet piece in particular. The examiner said that the performance was synchronised with her partner almost all the time and that she had good accuracy and a strong pulse.

Well done Freya - we are very proud of you!

Here is Olivia playing Sunlight Through the Trees. She is learning this in preparation for grade 1 - this week we concentrated on rhythm and she is making great strides in her progress. Well done Olivia - keep going!

Another huge congratulations to Arwen for passing her Grade 1 ABRSM with Merit! Her performance of Can't Stop the Feeling was very well received by the examiner with comments praising her spirited approach and attention to detail!

Lucus is preparing for his Grade 3 and here he is playing Little Rhapsody on Hungarian Themes. This piece is so fun to play and Lucus brings a wonderful energy to the performance. Well done Lucus and good luck for your upcoming exam!
