It’s Week 1 of our new swimming lesson course and we are super excited 🎉🙌

We want to welcome back all of our existing children and hope that you all had a lovely summer! 😎

If you are joining us for the first time welcome 🙌

We hope you enjoy your lessons half as much as we enjoy teaching them ❤️

Below is a simple FAQ for anyone who needs it

💦 What do I need to bring?

Just their swim things so costume, towel and goggles if little one wears them

💦 Do I need to bring their armbands?

No this isn’t necessary as we have all the floats and buoyancy aids we need. However if for the first lesson it’s helps with the transition then please do bring them with you. We want to make the first lesson as stress free as possible for you and your child.

💦 Where do we go?

When you join is you will be sent a welcome pack. There are details of the location of the pool inside. Once you arrive at the swimming pool get little one changed and the swim teachers will meet you on poolside.

💦 Will the swimming teacher be in the water?

Yes for stages 1, 2 and 3.

💦 Do I need to get into the water with my child?

No that is not necessary.

💦 What do I do if I have a problem?

In the first instance speak to your swimming teacher. If necessary pop us an email and we can get back to you ✅

Enjoy open water safely 🛟

Whether you're swimming, dipping, paddleboarding or simply spending time near the water, understanding the risks is key to staying safe.

✅ Let friends or family know your plans
✅ Choose a lifeguarded beach or accredited open water swimming venue where possible, especially if you are a beginner
✅ Stay within your depth and swim parallel to the shore
✅ Plan your exit points, including in an emergency
✅ Check for currents and use a fixed landmark to monitor your position
✅ Be aware of wind direction, hidden hazards, and underwater obstacles

Open water offers fantastic physical and mental well-being benefits, but conditions can change quickly. Taking a few simple precautions can help you enjoy your swim safely.

It’s Week 10 which means FUN week! ⭐️

Whilst we always aim to make every swim lesson FUN, we definitely turn it up a notch on the last week of term 🎉👏🥳

Why do we think it’s so important 👍

🏊 Builds confidence: Fun, low-pressure activities can help children feel more comfortable in the water.

😊 Keeps children motivated: Games make lessons exciting and can encourage children to look forward to swimming.

💪 Develops swimming skills: Activities can practise kicking, floating, breathing, jumping in and moving through the water without feeling repetitive.

🧠 Improves learning: Children often learn skills more naturally when they are engaged and having fun.

🤝 Encourages social skills: Group games help children practise cooperation, turn-taking and communication.

🌊 Reduces fear or anxiety: A playful environment can help children become more relaxed around water.

⭐ Creates positive associations: Enjoyable experiences can encourage children to continue swimming and become lifelong swimmers.

🎉 Celebrates progress: Fun Week can give children a chance to show off skills they've learned and celebrate their achievements.

It’s Water Safety Week here at TSC and it’s one of our favourites 🙌

Our children have been learning all about the importance of ‘The Safety Float’ this week and they’ve absolutely loved it. This skill saves lives and should never be underestimated.

The message is it’s always Better To Float On Your Back

🛟 Better for shouting (you can call for help)
🛟 Better for breathing (you can regulate your breathing on your back)
🛟 Better for looking (you can see when help is arriving)
🛟 Better for hearing (you can listen out for instructions)

We have tried to make all of our sessions as realistic as possible. The skill below simulates falling into the water and what you should do next 💦

Next week is Water Safety Week 🛟

Water safety education is vitally important for children because it helps them understand how to stay safe around swimming pools, rivers, lakes, the sea, and other bodies of water 💦

Further reasons that makes it so important ⬇️

🛟 Prevents drowning: Children learn essential skills such as floating, swimming, and getting out of the water safely.
🛟 Recognises dangers: They learn that water can be unpredictable, with risks such as strong currents, deep water, slippery surfaces, and cold temperatures.
🛟 Builds confidence: Learning safe behaviours can make children more comfortable and responsible around water without encouraging overconfidence.
🛟 responsible behaviour: Children learn rules such as not swimming alone, listening to adults, and avoiding running near pools.
🛟 Helps in emergencies: Basic knowledge of what to do if someone falls into water can help children respond appropriately and seek adult help quickly.
🛟 Develops lifelong skills: Water safety knowledge and swimming skills can protect children as they grow and take part in different water-based activities.

When you join our swim lesson programme you get so much more than your standard weekly swimming lessons ⭐️ .

Water safety is built into our core syllabus with children learning elements of the above skills every time they attend their swimming lessons with us. We even go further than that 🤩. At the end of each 10 week block we have Water Safety Week. This whole lesson is focussed on the key elements above and our children absolutely love it 🥰

📣 Swimming Lesson Announcement 📣

🙋‍♂️ Calling all school aged children🙋‍♂️

As we are coming to the end of our current term we are now very much looking towards the next one. Our September course starts on Monday 7th September and we are busy making plans! (I know we are sorry and don’t want to wish the summer away either, just trying to be prepared!) 😊

We are pleased to announce that our Swim School is expanding on a Saturday morning 🎉

We have added in extra Stage 1 lessons with Ed and we can’t wait to welcome some new children ❤️

The course starts on Saturday 12th September and the availability is below:
