Home Farm Children's Nursery is a friendly, caring and secure environment, where all children have fun learning through exciting and challenging programmes of activity and high quality play; where professional staff work with families to nurture each child's potential and develop their self confidence and personal self esteem for life. At Home Farm Nursery we have a number of friendly and caring s

taff in place, they hold a relevant Level 3 or above qualification in childcare. The Nursery offers full day and sessional care to children aged 6 months to 5 years. The nursery is registered with Kent County Council and inspected by Ofsted. We are a not for profit, registered charity any money we make is used for the benefit of the nursery. We have a large outside area with room for growing and digging as well as a large climbing frame and soft surface area for riding bikes and playing games. We also have use of Homewood School grounds and go for walks around the school site. We use the school library which has an early years section. Families can join and use the library too. The Curriculum meets the needs of the whole child. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS). We supply breakfast each morning which is a range of cereals and milk at no extra cost. Healthy snacks are provided too in the morning and afternoon. Lunch and teas are provide by Zebedees Catering at an extra cost. Our Pre-Schoolers have been busy today creating their very own cages for the animals at the zoo โ€” using dried spaghetti! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฆ“

They used their imagination and creativity to design safe spaces for their favourite animals, while developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, communication and imaginative play.

We loved seeing all their wonderful ideas and listening to them explain which animals they had chosen and how they would care for them. โค๏ธ

The children have been using their imaginations to create farms for the animals, making pretend muddy puddles with play dough and enjoying lots of small world play with a variety of farm animals. They loved squashing, rolling, molding and shaping the play dough while bringing their farmyard stories to life.

The children have been having lots of fun investigating a variety of objects and materials. They enjoyed posting different items through cardboard loo rolls, using pincer grabbers to pick up balls, threading lolly sticks through tubes, and posting wooden coins into slots in tubs.

These simple activities are fantastic for developing important early skills while encouraging curiosity and independent exploration.

โ€ข Improve hand-eye coordination through posting, threading and grasping activities.

Through stories, discussions and fun activities, they have been exploring different emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, fear and calm, while learning how to recognise and express how they are feeling.
