An incredible showdown to kick off the Easter break🏐

Staff and students battled it out in a thrilling volleyball contest last week. All three matches showcased superb skills, teamwork and school spirit. After a hard‑fought decider, the students clinched the overall victory but both teams made our community proud.

From captivating poetry and insightful prepared readings to powerful monologues and lively musical theatre pieces, they truly shone on stage. A massive well done to each and every performer for their hard work and dedication! ✨

Our students had an inspiring cultural adventure in London this week! 🖼️ 🎨

On Monday 23rd March, they enjoyed lunch at Trafalgar Square and visits to The National Gallery, The National Portrait Gallery and Tate Modern.

A scenic Thames walk and a stunning performance of Hercules capped off a day filled with cultural exploration. The following day included visits to The British Museum and the Natural History Museum.

A huge thank you to our staff for making this trip unforgettable and to our students for their exemplary conduct as ambassador of St Michael Abbey School!

This week at St Michael Abbey School we celebrated Pi Day (14 March or 3.14) with a variety of mathematical challenges and problem-solving activities across the school.

On Thursday lunchtime we held our inaugural Pi Recital Competition, with students putting their memories to the test. A huge congratulations to Amy-Rose, who won by reciting an impressive 77 decimal places of π!

We were so impressed that we treated the students to an Apple Pi (pun intended) from one of Tenbury Wells' finest bakeries Mr Thom’s Cafe, Bar and Grill

📚 Celebrating World Book Day at St Michael Abbey School

Our school community arrived in style last week as students and staff dressed as their favourite book characters to celebrate World Book Day 2026. From classic literary heroes to colourful modern favourites, the campus was filled with creativity and imagination.

One of the highlights of the day was our whole-school DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) session, where everyone paused their day to enjoy uninterrupted reading together.

We’re continuing the celebration with a school readathon, encouraging students to explore new genres, discover new authors and share their favourite books with one another.

Our students recently brought trigonometry to life by stepping outside the classroom and putting their learning into practice.

Using homemade clinometers, they measured angles of elevation and calculated the height of our main building, estimating it at 15.1 metres, remarkably close to a digital reading.

By connecting mathematics with history and real-world problem solving, students saw first-hand how great civilisations relied on the very same principles.

It’s learning beyond the classroom in action.
